Good Deal, staff could be nicer

We stayed for one night. The rooms were clean. The hallways were clean. The indoor swimming pool was good the Jacuzzi was not working. Close to restaurants, airport and about 30 min from downtown Detroit. Plenty of parking space. Great rate.

Get's the job done

On a scale of Thanksgiving foods this hotel rates at about canned cranberries: cheap, not glamorous, but I'll eat it. Room/bed was clean. Place is huge. Shuttle was on-time. If you don't have a car and want to have dinner you'll have to walk a ways or order in. Breakfast sucked. Front-desk agents seemed more concerned with their cell phones and filing their nails than the customers.

Not a 3 star hotel as advertised

First she put me in a room that wasn't made up from the day before. She made no apology. Had to wait a long time everytime at the lobby counter, because their comptuers were really slow. 2 of 3 elevators I tried didnt work. Movie theater/Cinema was bolted closed, even those it still advertises it as an amenity. Paint was peeling in the bathroom ceiling. Wallpaper was coming off the walls in room. Strong smell of either cigarette or pot smoke in several different hallways, even though it has no smoking signs all over the hotel. Hot tub had cold water in it. We had cold water only in our bathroom on our second day. Cold showers are not very refreshin. 3rd & 4th floor ice machines didn't work. Outside landscaping and grass looked like it hadnt been trimmed in monthes. Giant stain in bathrooom floor. Hallways and eleveators very dirty. This hotel was nothing that it was advertised. I give it 1 star. It could be 3 stars as advertised, if it took care of all these issues?

Meh - You get what you pay for...

The lobby is pretty classy, but that is as far as it goes. If you want a cheap stay, this place isn't bad if you are willing to jump through the hoops to get a working room. The first room we had did not have a working phone or Internet. The second two rooms they gave us keys to had not been cleaned. They finally gave us a suite which was nice, but still lacked things like tissue, a phone book, a pad of paper or pen. I will try other places next time.

Stay at the M

Very close to the airport. Bed comfortable, room clean and thick towels in the bathroom. Front desk is managed so, so, but staff will help out if needed. Very good price when booked on line. Would definetly use it again. Have used other hotels that were cheap and awful, but The M was worth staying again.
