Poor Service
I traveled to Detroit to visit my sister and her family. I've enjoyed staying at Courtyard motels previously, but this stay was a notable exception. The staff denied that I could request a particular type of room by reserving online with Orbitz, despite the hard copy of my reservation that I showed them. The room was fairly comfortable but not especially clean. Attempting to use the indoor pool during the adults-only swim time late in the evening, I found a dozen teenaged males running around and shouting. After having my request for a wakeup call confirmed, I did not receive a call the following morning. No one was at the desk when I checked out that morning.

Staying at the airport
Great location, except that despite being checked in online and leaving 1 1/2 hours before the flight, we still missed it, due to a long wait for the Hertz bus and huge security lines at 6:30 a.m.

It worked well for me.
This was a trip to attend a funeral and see my father which had collapsed while at the wake and had to be placed into the hospital. Since I arrived in the evening, I had to stay overnight and visit the hospital in the morning, the funeral would be that morning at 11:00 am. When we arrived the hotel looked as good as the internet pictures, maybe a little better. We were satisfied with what we saw. My wife and I felt that this was the place to be. It was not far from the airport at all. Restaurants were all over the area. Everything looked great! The hotel was kind of hid away, just like we like it. An airport Parking lot was in front of our room. Things were quiet. We walked in and the receptionist was pleasant, neat, and professional. She had a uniform in navy blue I think. The computer had all the information and I just used the card to confirm who I was. She gave us direction to the room and off we went. The room was nice, clean and just what I wanted. No thrills, just a neat, clean room with a TV, Just like the internet had. We were on the ground level, and our Vehicle was just outside our window. We ordered dinner from the menu on the table and made the best of the situation. The room really made us feel better about why we were there. But how good can you feel about a funeral. We did hear planes taking off, about two which I can remember. Other than that the rest of the night was fine, I slept like a baby. If I have to go back to the area, this will be my first choice. I woke up the next morning rested and ready to go. We did not need to go to the desk; the receipt was in the e-mail. We left just as we came, Satisfied.

A little worn.
I chose this hotel for it's location close to the airport so I could catch a 6am flight out of Detroit. I wouldn't really recommend staying more than one night. The bathroom tub/shower smelled of mildew. The lighting in the room and hotel itself was very dim and dreary. (Maybe that was a good thing?) Since I had to get up so early I went to set the alarm clock for 4am and the alarm was broken, the "hour" button was broken. I called the front desk to ask for a different alarm clock and they said they didn't think they had any extra. Well, the hotel was not even close to being full so I don't see why they couldn't grab me one from an empty room. A bit later housekeeping came to my room with a clock radio from 1975, but it worked just fine. For a hotel that was fairly empty on a Thursday night, they put me in the room that was closest to the ice machine that made a horrible noise most of the time. So would I stay here again? No. It wasn't horrible but it definitely has lots of room for improvement.

Short drive from hotel
Leonardo's has great food and they deliver for free to the hotel. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich and it was a tremendous amount of good food for $7 and arrived in 15 minutes. Can't be beat if you don't want to leave your room and need some good food fast.

Godd location from the airport
Location to airport was good, rooms nice, bed great, staff handed us the key. Breakfast was $9.95 and just coming from the Hampton Inn, with all kinds of wonderful free food all day, it was a disapointment.

Nice, clean hotel
Only stayed one night and arrived very late, around 3am. Hotel is close to airport. Desk clerk was friendly and room was great. Can be noisy depending on which direction aircraft are landing. For our stay, aircraft were flying over the hotel on approach to DTW. Thus, aircraft noise began around 7 am. So much for sleeping in, but overall I liked the hotel.

Comfortable and convenient
The location provided easy access to the interstate and rental car lots. Area locations were short drives. The 24 hr airport shuttle allowed for an early rental car return and hassle-free departure.

Good deal
Just an overnite due to connections taken. Nice, clean and quiet. I would like it better if it was not so hotel like, for example just one bed in the room.
