BEST WESTERN Gateway International Hotel

Enjoyed the pool and pool table. Great breakfast. Really nice waiter helping at the buffet.

Room 1097 door needs repair, difficult to close and open. The shower faucet needs repair too. It needs to turn very tight to stop the water completely. The breakfast is wonderful. Nice place and good food.

I had my small son with me, and there was room for him to run around, look at the water, I loved that they had a sauna!

We were blown away by the value of our reservation. After booking such a low price, we didn't know what to expect. Everything was so clean and updated! I would value our $80 reservation at least around $150. Such a nice layout of hotel, great breakfast that is constantly maintained by a staff member. Quiet and Clean, can't ask for more. It even passed my pregnant wife's approval! Now that says something! :) Book this stay!

No one at the front desk upon arrival. Had to yell out to see if anyone was available. There were stains on the walls, the bathroom sink was plugged, and the cold water faucet in the bath/shower did not work. There was also the strong smell of paint as you entered the backside of the building. We were hoping for a better experience. Very disappointed.

Flew in to airport. Called shuttle, it arrived rapidly and driver was courteos and got me to hotel quickly..I checked in to hotel and was greeted professionally and checked in quickly. I proceeded through a huge lobby with tons of space. Waterfalls a nice pool, very nice eating areas and a great place to hang out. I then entered my room. It looked nice until I walked in further. 3 out of 4 lights in room did not work or were broken. There were handicap rails n the bathroom. They had been broken off the wall and were rehung with unsealed rough wood and globs of caulking to seal around edges.. Looked rough.. I wanted to watch the weather so I grabbed the fancy germ free remote to turn tv on.. Great idea but it did not work. Used my cel phone light to find the power button on the tv. Turned it on nice flat screen tv, horrible picture was like watching with old rabbit ears. Decide to go to sleep and noticed curtains blowing out and it sounded like window was open.. Got up to check it out and found all weatherstripping was missing between windows. Lots of dirt was blown in and was on window ledge. Stuffed towel in window to stop cold air and noise. Climbed back into bed which was comfortable and had nice pillows. Took shower in morning had plenty of hot water. Went to check out and stopped and ate at the morning breakfast bar. Food was very good and plentiful. With a little maintenance and work this could be a nice hotel. Rate was good and it worked for my purposes of staying one night. If you want a basic room with comfortable beds not to bad of a place to stay. If you like modern well maintained rooms, for a longer stay I would keep looking.

Took too long to answer the phone when I called to ask about transportation

Staff was very courteous and the atrium was pleasing place to have breakfast. Had all the amenties we needed and great location near the airport, restaurants, and other places we needed to be.

I booked this room as a add on to my travel plans. I was going to Palm Beach FL one way and needed a ride to Detroit and a room for the night. My girlfriend was giving me a ride and staying the night with me. Knowing I would be gone for Valentines Day, I call a local fower shop and had them deliver roses and a bag of peddles to the hotel. Called the hotel to have the flowers in the room on arrival. The staff "Trisha and Sharleaen" went above and beyond!!! The flowers were in a vase on the table and the peddles spread around the room and over the bed. My girlfriend was so surprised and taken back by the beauty of the room she almost cried!!! Thank you Trisha and Sharleen. You made our stay a special one to be remembered forever...

I really liked the hotel. I had some trouble figuring how to wheel my luggage to my room whilke avoiding stairs: it was possible, but circuitous. The phone & TV remote were difficult to figure out, also. I slept well, and my rest was uninterrupted, which was what I came for.
