I should have read the reviews

I should have read the reviews before booking this motel. I choose it based on price and location. I was traveling by myself and needed a place to stay to break up a long trip. The motel was easy to get to from the bridge, but I thought the location of the motel was in a questionable area. I was suprised to find the lobby locked at 10:00 PM, and I had to register through a window from the outside. My room was located in the back building on the second floor. While there were outside lights, it was still dark in spots and all of the rooms were accessed from the outside. Across the parking lot from this back building was another building that looked as if it was part of the motel, but it looked in rough shape. Perhaps this was for long term rentals? I was not comfortable being alone outside at night so I went to my room as quickly as possible. The room itself was clean and spacious. Had it not been clean I would have left and gone elsewhere. The furinishings were old, and the mattress looked and felt as if it should have been replaced long ago. It was extremely uncomfortable and saggy. Breakfast was adequate, and the desk clerk was very friendly and courteous. I booked the room based on the Days Inn name, but I will definitely think twice before I book with Days Inn again.

so-so-sleeping

too close to the street air conditioning was not working well and went off and on every 5-10 minutes all night long! Bathroom so old and did not even look appealing to shower in. Beds were not comfortable.

Not the Cleanest

We don't normally stay at Days Inn we are lovers of Hampton Inn's however due to the proximity of the Cruise Night in Pt. Huron it is one of the only hotels along the route of the Cruise. So we plunk our chairs out in front of the Rite Aid drug store which is beside the Days Inn and we have a few beverages while watching all the classic cars & hot rods touring by & also entertained by the few who perform "burn outs". Back to the rooms. The rooms themselves are not real bad except for the carpets which are beyond filthy. I wore my shoes as much as one can but there is a time to take them off and in minutes my white socks were resembling the colour of coal. The first morning when I climbed into the shower after my wife just got out from her shower, the tub was black from where I was stepping. The bottoms of my feet were black just from when I took my socks off to got to bed and of course a couple of visits to the throne through the course of the night! There was a cheesie on the floor between the bed and the night table left from previous occupants, so I did kick it out to the middle of the floor so house-keeping could see it and it was gone after they cleaned the room. There was an info card of sorts behind the desk on the floor and it was still there when we left they never picked it up. The beds were clean as my wife inspected that immediately upon arrival. The fridge worked good and the room was also furnished with a microwave but we never used it so I can't confirm it's operating condiotion. The tops of the A/C units outside the rooms were last cleaned when they got a driving rain from the South and the railings of the stairs were dirty and covered with bird droppings and the steps themselves were never ever cleaned either. Overall the rooms are not bad other than the carpets and the building cries out for maintenance & TLC. The staff are very friendly.

You get what you pay for.

Rooms are old but clean. New carpet. Smell from cleaning products and deodorizer. Small rooms. Very basic. Location is basically in a parking lot in a run down commercial part of town. Very nice staff. Modest free breakfast. Free wireless access. If you pay a low price for these rooms and stay a night and don't mind a very old property that has been maintained as best they can on a budget this place is fine.
