Ok but expensive
Its a good business hotel but expensive. Think about going to the Courtyard across the road. Rooms were large and comfy but nothing to shout about. Definitely not worth what we paid for - which was quite a bit considering how late we booked it.

Nice, but....
Overall we enjoyed our stay. We did not like that you had to pay for internet unless you were in the lobby. Also, the pool and exercise area was overrun by 40 soccer kids without the proper adult supervision. Because of all of the soccer kids in the hotel, we were stuck with a single king sized bed (no pullout). Quite cozy with 2 adults and a 4 year old stuck in the same bed.

Short drive from hotel
Beware of the "Michigan Left Turns". Left turns are not allowed at many intersections. Instead, you have to take a right turn, and then make a u-turn in 500 feet.

Girl Getaway
We had a blast. Some friends and I came from out of town for a bachelorette party and this was a great place to do it. The staff was very friendly and the establishment was very clean, neat and tidy. It was close to everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends.

We enjoyed the indoor or outdoor pool option. It was a little cooler and overcast outside and it was nice to be able to stay in if we wanted.

Reception staff needs some tips
Since I had been up since 2am, I was longing for an afternoon nap. Got into bed and heard an inconsistent sound that seemed as if someone was dropping weights. I called the front desk--the reception agent snickered when I told her about the noise, suggested that they were cleaning the room upstairs, offered no help, and disconnected the call. I tried to sleep again (I had an important evening event and desperately needed a nap). I was awakened again by the noise from upstairs. I called the front desk -the same young woman answered the phone and sighed and said she would send someone to investigate. Well, the maintenance person came into my room after knocking twice (while I was in bed! I told him to go back and wait by door and then, when out of view, I told him that the noise was coming from upstairs and that's where he should be knocking on door.) the noise got worse within the next ten minutes. ugh. I called the front desk back and said I needed to change rooms. Same young woman coolly suggested that I come back downstairs to handle that. No apologies. No explanation for why the maintenance man came to my room initially instead of the room upstairs and then no explanation as to what this "investigation" uncovered. I re-packed and got dressed, and went to front desk. A much more civilized reception agent noted that a lacrosse team was taking several rooms on floor above me--so I deduced and then suggested to the agents that the source of the noise was probably coming from the lacrosse team members practicing with lacrosse balls being bounced against walls and then hitting the floor!!! The hotel should place sports teams or groups of younger visitors on lowest floors so as not to disturb other guests. And they should apologize for the disturbance--I had paid in advance for the room for two nights but chose not to return the second night. (The second room they gave me smelled of cigarettes and had a muted stain on sheet. I was exhausted and would have slept on a lobby sofa at that point--I did not want to complain again.) But that was enough for me. I flew back home early the next afternoon rather than staying another (pre-paid) night!

Very family friendly
The Auburn Hills Marriott in Pontiac, Michigan was very comfortable. The room had a king size bed, two chairs, a desk area and a table and was a very large room. Both the room and the bathroom was very clean. The shower was very good. There was pleanty of space for hanging clothes but not enough hangers. I am sure that if I had mentioned the hangers to the staff they would have gotten me more with no problem. The hotel had a very good resturant and there were many other resturants around there that were excellant. The location was very good--meeting the needs of the reason why it was nescessary for me to travel. The best of the best was the pool, whilpool and exercise room. I plan to stay there again when I need to travel to Michigan.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
1. Hotel had a great dining but a little high in price. 2. In front of the hotel was a great Italian resturant. The food was really good and you got a lot for the money. 3. Across the street was a Greek resturant that had the best Coney Dogs in town.
