DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!

It was aweful, from the minute we walked into the lobby! We were told our room wasn't ready/cleaned yet, so we left and explored the area for an hour and a half...only to return and be told it still wasn't clean. We were moved to another room...only to enter the room and find the floor, along edges of the walls, be LITERALLY 3 inches deep with dust and food particles! Upon entering the bathroom, we found dried urine on the under-side of the toilet seat (which was raised to signify it was cleaned), and hair in the drain of the shower, and the walls of the shower had dried soapy water spots from the previous patrons, along with dried toothpaste residue all over the sink and water spout. Upon complaining about the disgusting room, we were moved to our third room, which now didnt have half the room amenities our reservation said we were to have, and our microwave and mini fridge were turned on and off with a light switch....we only had two and a half working outlets out of 8 in our room!!!! When my husband went to use the bathroom for the first time, the toilet wouldn't flush!!! Upon complaining once more, we were moved to our FOURTH room!!! While waiting for our keys, the fire alarm panel went off with an annoying beep...the manager came and pushed the silence button WITHOUT looking for the problem and location of the alarm!!! (My husband and I work in the fire/911 field and were appalled at the negligence of the staff). When we questioned the staff, they stated it was a certain room that had a steam issue from the shower being used....DON'T RENT OUT THE ROOM!!! The indoor pool was ice cold, and the sauna was out of order. The ice maker on the fourth floor was out of order, and a sign stated we needed to go to the second floor to get ice...accord, to ing to reviews, this is a problem that has been ongoing for a LONG TIME!!! Our last room felt like the penthouse, probably because they cleaned the room due to our complaints, until 530 am....when someone from maintenance gained access to our room with a master key, "to make sure the room was occupied". Then housekeeping used their master key at 6 am, to clean our "unoccupied room". Finally at 640 am, with the third attempt to access our room with a master key, I became irrate and yelled at the person....only to find out that no one entered us into the computer system in our FOURTH room...for a two-night stay!!!!!! We were told we could not be refunded any money, due to it being prepaid through this website.....WE WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN TO FIND A HOTEL....My husband said I am no longer allowed to go "cheap" again!!!!

never stay again

This hotel is so bad organized. They did not have our reservation when we called 2 nights prior to confirm the reservation which was made one week ago. It was finally resolved after spending more than an hour with them, then when we arrived, the front desk staff could not find our reservation. We waited more than 30 minutes again to get a room. During the whole waiting time, no body even bothered to explain to us what was going on. The staff even admitted that they had more reservations than rooms. The room was so dirty, there were very obvious dust and spider web on the furniture. There was no ONE trash can in the room. One of the beds did not have blanket, there was dried blood stain on bed sheet. They could not find even one blanket for us! The continental breakfast was awful.

Cheap isnt always good

Although they were under construction there was no reason the room should be dirty. Carpet was vacuumed only around the room. There were cookies under the bed.. The bed spread had holes in it. There was burn marks all over many pieces of the furniture. The toilet bowl was dirty. only 1 hand towel in room. Arm of the chair was broken. The heat/air unit made so much noise it was hard to hear the tv.. I have traveled many places and have never had them photo copy my drivers license before. What's with that? Very disappointing. To use the pool you had to be fully clothed to enter and change in there. Until they clean up their act they should not be renting the rooms.

A lot to be desired

Front desk reception was nice but very unprofessional. It appeared to be friends of hers that hung out in the lobby as she was taking with them most of the night and eating dinner with them the few times I went through the lobby. The pool was closed for remodeling which was fine but I did get a good laugh at the very grammatically incorrect sign on the wall informing guests of the closed pool. I ended up in the fourth floor jacuzzi room which needed a desperate update. Towels appeared stained and we requested new ones that appeared clean. There is one ice machine per floor and the 4th floor happened to have a sign on it to get ice on the second floor. The ice bucket did not have a liner to go in it so we just filled out cups. Over-all for the $100/night to stay in that room, I'd never so it again. Plus if it is like every other room, the room rates are far too high for the "quality"

must have been nice, 30 yrs. ago!

Watch your step! No attempt to control treacherous ice in parking lot. Creepy feel to this place. Found a used band-aid in the shower. Slept with our clothes on. Breakfast was attempted, which was nice for the three guests they had overnight. Comes in at the 3rd worst I've ever, and I've seen quite a few. Friendly girl checked us in.

Do Not Stay Here

8-8-13 When we arrived- we found the pool had been "being repaired" for the whole year. The elevator was broke and the Sauna did not work either. None of which we were told before we booked our room. The staff said that we could not get into our room early because they were full the night before but they did not know we drove through the empty lot early that morning. There is a pile of materials in front that maybe was part of some project from long time ago. The place needs a whole lot of work and I am not certain the current ownership/ staff understands what standards people have. On a scale 1-10 with 10 as the best this hotel would disqualify for any rating at all. I think it is criminal to present this to the public and not be held accountable.

Go down to Holland- The town, the attractions and the amenities are far superior than anything in Muskegon.

Family Reunion Week-End

Looking forward to this week-end for a year. There was no working elevator, no security access after dark, no pool; no ice maker working; room had too much furniture for size and upholstery was dirty. Overall appearance of room not clean. A wet towel was hanging on bathroom door. Bedspreads were old and torn; linens were stained. Edges of carpet not vacuumed. Lampshades had brown burn spots; dusty; dirty doors which I cleaned myself with anti-bacterial wipes. Bathroom not as clean as it should be; rips and holes in wallpaper; no hair dryer. Air worked in room and TV. Refrigerator door was hard to open. Microwave worked for popcorn, but was missing the glass turntable. Bed sheets were borrowed from local relative, who offered for us to stay with them. We had already been charged and thought we would tough it out. We took a chance and it wasn't a good experience, but a learning one.

Horrible experience

The bad experience started at the check in. The women would not work with us in any way to change our room. My husband has had hip replacement, and I have had two knee replacements. The elevator was not working, our room was on the fourth floor and the women would not give us another room, even for more money. Needless to say we only went up and down when we absolutely had to use the stairs. The women also stated that if we had booked through them instead of howdid, we would have saved a hundred dollars, at least, because they were giving discounts for the lack of an elevator. The pool was not open, the rooms were not very clean, and because the refrigerator in our room was not working, it was leaking water. Because of all the allergy problems my husband and I suffered, I'm sure the carpet was full of mold brought on by the carpet being wet. The bathroom floor in the second room we rented, was not washed. The room was also not very clean. This was about the worst experiences we've had at a motel/hotel and I don't think we'll book through your company again.

Remove this hotel from your list

We drove up and there were several men drinking beer and smoking in the parking lot and around the exits. We didn't feel safe. Clearly this place has seen better times. The elevator and pool were out of order. The stairwells smelled of something urine-like. I had to sign a waiver saying that I wouldn't be having a party in the room. There were garbage cans in the hallways that had been used as ashtrays. You should offer me a partial refund. This hotel was worth maybe $40 or $50, but I've paid that much before and stayed in better hotels. It's unlikely I will book a hotel with your company again based on this experience.
