Americas Best Value Inn Marquette

We booked this hotel on line over 2 months in advance of a national antique car convention. When we arrived we were disappointed at how shabby the exterior looked- the plywood siding was rotting off the buildingin places- deferred maintenance at its worst. When we checked in, the room they gave us stunk like our cat's litter box before cleaning. They showed us two other rooms, both were run-down looking and smelled bad although not as bad as the first room. We told them we could not stay and were told we would be charged for one night since we cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. Later that day, some friends arrived and also declined to stay for the same reasons. They were only charged a $25 cancellation fee, so we eventually got our charges reduced to that amount. This hotel either needs to be closed down for a COMPLETE cleanup, repair and updating or maybe just bulldozed and forgotten.......

room was fine, real clean, spacious, bath room was kind of small, sink had small faucet leak but not my problem, coffee pot and grounds to make coffee was nice, continental brkfst was not spectacular but adequate

It was kind of old and nothing too special, but it was clean, quiet and the staff was helpful. No complaints - the price was right!

I have stayed in many hotels in countries around the world and all over the US. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst if not the worst ever. We were in town for a race and all rooms were booked so we had little choice. With that in mind we still considered leaving. Our room smelled like cat urine and the shower faucets didn't work properly. The beds were uncomfortable and the decor hadn't been updated since the med 80's. For some teason there were non functioning doors to the outside. Unless you have no options, don't stay here.

Hotel is simple and clean. Rooms are a little cramped. I went to bed early as I needed to wake early in the morning for a long drive. The doors close very loudly and people were slamming them all night. Also, someone decided to start vacuuming the hallway at 7:30 at night.

Inn needs alot of work. Room was not clean. (Puky smell, stuff on walls) I should have asked for a new one. Pool & Jacuzzi was ok. Contential breakfast was ok.

Very good, friendly, helpful staff. They pointed out places of interest to us and how to get there easily.

Like I said, it met all my needs.

Stayed for two days. Charged $10 extra per night for my dog. I assume that this would be for cleaning, however I am not sure what good that would have done. The carpet was filthy and stained, the room was dingy and smelled.

it was okay to stay at for 2 nights. the staff was friendly.
