I booked this room in advance online. I thought that would ensure that I would have a room to stay in upon my arrival.
Unfortunately when I did arrive the office was closed and a sign directed guests to check in at the hotel next door. When I got
there the front desk to the other hotel was also closed.
I called the hotel but no answer. I called customer service and they were not very accommodating refusing to refund me even though I was not provided with the service I had paid for. I was told that they would have to get a waiver from the hotel owner in order for me to be able to get a refund.
The customer service representative did call to find a hotel that was still open (a place that has a 24 hr front desk service). But I had to pay for it my self and I made sure to pay the hotel directly for that room.
The next morning I called the Waterfront Inn and was told that he would call customer service and I would be refunded. However, I still have yet to receive a refund.
The whole experience was stressful and disappointing and I do not recommend booking a room here or using customer service.
First off when we first checked in, the staff gave us keys to an already occupied room which was extremely embarrassing. When I went back to tell them they were barely apologetic. The room was okay, a little dirty and curtains were hanging off the
rod. Over all it was fine for one night, nothing special.
We did not get beyond the door to our room. The sink and floor were filled with bugs - some dead, others still alive. We approached the stairs to the building which housed our room with great trepidation. The building and stairs were in very bad
repair with peeling paint and deteriorating wood. We reserved this room because I had confused the hotel with another, nearby hotel. I attempted to obtain a refund at the desk but was told because I went through an online booking service. I would need to go through them, not the hotel. We immediately went to a nearby clean hotel. I will attempt to get my money refunded, but even if that is not possible, we could not have possibly stayed in this place.
We did not spend a lot of time in our room. We checked in after 6:00 P.M. We did receive a voucher for breakfest at a nearby hotel. You can either drive or walk to the city from here. it's a little less then a mile.
Hotel was clean but very rundown. Wallpaper peeling, carpet worn, sheets thin, etc.. Staff was very helpful, and told us of all the area had to offer along with a map and coupons. Pool looked great. Breakfast was next door at the neighboring
hotel, and was more than adequate although you had to walk next door to get it. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for cheap place to stay. We found no bugs, and enjoyed using this facility as a springboard to the area.
Staff was friendly but that is where the enjoyment ended. The bed was the worst I've slept in in my 41 years of being on this planet. The beds frame was broke and the spring had failed long ago. The room was clean but very dated and no amenities
to speak of
In the morning I went to get coffee from the office. They were closed. It seems this is a regular thing.
The beach (if you can call it that) was very dirty. It was riddled with plastic, rubber hoses, glass, and even a gutter from a house. I guess we al need a vacation every once in a while, including gutters.
Their continental breakfast isn't actually onsite, it's down the road at a different inn.
Someone mentioned the shower head being low. For a 5'11" person you it was a perfect height to wash your chest.
Spend an extra 20-30 dollars and stay somewhere else. Or just sleep in your car and you'll likely get a better sleep.
Rude desk clerk, after I killed at least 15 spiders ( YES 15! ) I was able to kind of get some sleep. Not a very pleasant experience at all. I'm about 5' 11'' and the shower head was even with my chest. Place needs some serious attention
