great view of the straits and the bridge
With the exception of desk staff that didn't know much information about where to eat that was not touristy and weren't very helpful in figuring out how to get early tickets for the ferry, this was a great value with a clean room, great view, and cheap.

Short drive from hotel
Make the trip to Cheboygan to eat out because the food is much better and cheaper than in Mackinaw City.

Honeymooners
Mackinaw City
It was ok for a cheap hotel, nothing too special. The water in the tub didn't drain well, the hot tub was nasty, and the room smelled funky. The breakfast was really good though.

Not exactly what we were expecting
I was traveling with my girlfriend. We checked in around 6pm not sure what to expect. Upon arriving to our room we realized that the room reminded us of a musty motel room, similar to those you see in horror movies. The beds were nice, the shower was not. The shower spout was about 5 feet off the ground and required some sort of yoga move to wash my hair (I'm 5'11''). The location of the hotel was nice, about a 15 minute walk from downtown Mackinaw City. Our room was not directly on the beach, but then again there wasn't much of a beach to begin with. For some reason, about 15 feet out from the rooms, after some nice sand, there was 15 feet of wet, swampy area before another 5 feet of sand and finally Lake Huron. Not a place I recommend going to if you expect to lounge on the beach. Finally, after a decent nights sleep, my girlfriend and I went to get their free hot breakfast. It consisted of eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, etc. The only food I enjoyed was the sausage and biscuits and that was a bit suspect. So, their culinary skills are not the best, but it was acceptable. So take this review for what its worth, the stay here was decent for the price, just not what was expected.

Never again!!!!!
WE were not given the rooms that we ordered, [...] would never ever try to stay at another Quality Inn (what a joke). The pool was in a building not connected to anything, the room was so small you could hardly turn around in it. The management was insulting the way he treated our situation.

Adequate and economical
Close to main street Mackinaw City. Easy walk to food and activities. Shuttles to ferries. Breakfast was good, plentiful, offered a nice selection of hot and cold items, and was served in a large bright room with lots of windows. If you're in the area, take the trip to Mackinac Island.

Not the best
We stayed overnight to go to Mackinac Island the next day. The hotel had clean rooms but outdated. It was a good price for the place of the hotel and if you don't mind more outdated rooms, then this hotel might work. Don't expect luxury, but an ordinary room that's clean for the money paid.

Two best friends and one bridgee
This was a great trip. The boys and I only had about 23 hours to come from Clarkston, MI to Mackinaw (3.5 hour drive) and back again. We were just tired of sitting around home and we wanted to get away. The Quality Inn was the cheapest hotel but it had a great view, average rooms, free breakfast, and free wi-fi. And it was just as close to mackinaw as the rest of the hotels. It was a great trip!

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Dont go to Mackinaw out of season. We were driving around for food or to see any activity but it was dead. I dont know when the tourist season starts but go then. Also visit the pizza joint with the free museum! Its really great!
