Family fun abounds at beachfront Mackinaw City hotel

The Clarion Hotel Beachfront in Mackinaw City is located on the shore of Lake Huron. Guests of all ages enjoy the hotel's private beach, sundeck, picnic area and playground. The hotel also offers an indoor swimming pool, spa tub and fitness room. In addition to a complimentary continental breakfast daily, the Clarion provides free coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day. Great Place!

I was surprised! I have stayed in Mackinac City a few times and the motels have always had issues. However, this one was great! Seriously. Very clean, the staff was friendly, large flatscreen, whirlpool tub, nice pool and hot tub, walked around back of building and sat in nice lounge chairs on sandy beach. Very good breakfast. My only two "minor" issues: the internet cut out several times, get a stronger router in this day and age. The girl serving breakfast sat behind a counter with her head on a towel sleeping off and on. Yikes...came around from the coffe and saw a head there. Freaky. Overall though...loved the place and will certainly go back again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Irish Pub was a bit pricey bu had very good fish and chips. Although they were not chips but fries. Still good though.
