Nice Weekend Getaway
The hotel had a good breakfast with a large breakfast room. The hotel room was clean and we had no complaints about it. It is at the end of the "main hotel strip" but that is still only less than a mile away from the shopping. I have two notables from our trip (both pizza related). 1. Nonna Lisa's wood fire baked pizza and Papa Zo's are the exact same place. 2. The city closes down Huron ave during their Annual Big Truck Parade which means no pizza delivery....

great location, great room
My sister was up from Texas and had never been to the bridge. We only had a couple of days and the Clarion provided a very nice room at a location that gave us the opportunity to see many of the sites in our limited time there. Enjoyed the beach at the hotel and the view of the bridge. They have a very nice breakfast included in the price.

Don't go to Anna's.....food and service leaves something to be desired. There are some very nice restaurants within walking (or short drive) from the hotel.

A Hotel with Some Issues
The room was nicely appointed and great view of the lake but had a strong smell of body odor that we aired out only to have it return by morning. This hotel had only 2 ice machines for a hotel with four buildings! You actually have to walk several buildings away to get to the ice machine that was out of ice the two days that we were there.

Not the Best!!
The pool and exercise area are located outside of the actual hotel, in a different building, so you have to go outside in your bathing suit or you could change in the bathroom in the pool area, just not a convenient set up. Also the breakfast buffet was horrible, powdered eggs, donut holes, sausage, just not very appealing, the only good thing was the waffles. No yogurt or fruit. The room was okay, a little cramped with 2 queen beds, a couch and table and chairs. The shower was hot, so that was good.

end of the strip
The room was advertised with 2 false queen beds. We didn't know what that meant until we arrived. The second queen bed was a "murphy" type bed! It would have been a little tight if we had used it. Our room was across from the pool building and was always full of kids even until the late evening. We were there to walk the Mackinaw bridge and was out and about more than we were in and the room was perfect for that. Easy to get in and out of hotel lot since near the end. The room was the cleanest we've seen in awhile, even the bathroom. Just wish it had been less expensive.

The hotel is near the end of the "strip" and is about a mile from the main street. Be ready to walk!

My wife says im to tolerant.
checkin was late. service was "eh", and the beach was washed away. the much touted balcony view was a parking lot, from a 4ft x 4ft balcony. we did the 2 bedroom suite. which -for the most part- was well appointed. except for the Flourescent Bulbs that kept burning out, a bathroom fan that didnt work, and bats everywhere. It would have been nice to have a restuarant too. if you want to eat plan on walking 1/2 a mile.

A hotel is a hotel is a hotel....
The hotel was just fine - the room was clean, the beach area was similar to the other 6 hotels' beaches that were right next to us, and the hot breakfast was good. The pool was nice. We purposely picked this hotel so we could ride our bikes to downtown Mackinaw City and the ferries to Mackinac Island, but not be right downtown with all the traffic and noise. Overall a very enjoyable place to stay.
