America's Best Value Inn

My husband and I went to this hotel for our anniversary with our best friends celebrating their anniversary also. We got the the honeymoon package. Not sure what to expect, we walked into our rooms with champagne on ice and a $25 gift certificate to a Mackinac City restaurant. The room was huge and my husband enjoyed the large jacuzzi tub. We truly enjoyed our visit and would return again!

Our stay at America's Best Value Inn in Mackinaw was very pleasant. The room was clean and functional, the location was good, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It is a great option if you are looking for an economic room close to downtown Mackinaw. Highly recommended.

Our room wasn't ready when we went to check in so we had to wait another hour for check in. When we did check in we had to wait for towels and I had to ask for my package that I had ordered. When we were walking to our room there was bedding laying on the ground and all of the room's doors were open. It looked like they had just stripped the beds and thrown the bedding out the door. 2 hours later when we came back from getting dinner, the bedding was still laying along the parking lot. If I would have driven past this hotel before booking a room, we wouldn't have stayed there.

When we first got there and went into the lobby no one came out to greet us for 5 min and then only because hotel employee came in. They did give us a upgrade. Got into the room no towels or soap etc. Found a staff person and she was going to bring some towels..before we left to go to town stopped at the office and staff person said oh sorry I forgot about the towels...when we got back towels were there.. the chairs in the room were alittle ratty. Went to make coffee in the AM and the coffee maker was never cleaned out from who knows how long. Don't think we will stay there again...

Orbitz never sent our reservation over so the wonderful woman working there had to call them up and make them fax it over. Apparently it happens all the time. She was so helpful and nice however, so it made the inconvenience acceptable. The package was nice, though nothing was waiting for us (champaign etc) because Orbitz never sent it over. The room was alright for the pice. I got the feeling if we had just walked in however the room would have been cheaper, but with the gift card and champaign I wasn't complaining. All in all it was a alright hotel for a decent price with a nice perk package.

Had a good breakfast. No wi-fi access in our room. The staff told us that they are fixing it. Good for a two nights stay.

We upgraded to the jacuzzi room for our anniversary trip to Mackinac Island. The room was good size. The only complaint we had was we booked 2 nights but we were not given towels or coffee on the next night. The staff did not have the upgraded champagne or $25.00 gift certificate for us at check in. We had to remind them of our package details. They later brought them to our room while we were out. It was very nice to walk in and have rose petals on the bed and floor with a bottle of champagne. The waffles delivered to your room is not available and they knew nothing of it. The breakfast was good and it was quiet at night even though the hotel was booked. Overall it was very nice for the money.

I went there to participate in an open water swim in Harbor Springs. The room was perfectly adequate and the breakfast was one of the better "included" breakfasts I've had. The woman serving breakfast had it ready early which helped us get to the race on time. The woman at the front desk was very professional and friendly.

Toilet malfunctioning!Three lights failed to light!!Prepaid price thru [...]was ~25.00 per day HIGHER than walk in price!!!Poor to none WiFi connection. Had to go outside!
