disappointment

Staying at a familiar brand hotel, with many amenities advertised, a person expects a reasonable degree of upkeep of basic features. Not so here. Repainting and/or renewal of surfaces (bathtub/shower combo, sinktop, walls), as well as a few electric outlets available in the room, a mirror or two, renewal of obviously old drapes, a few pictures on the wall. Also, the bathroom smelled of either uncleaned or else leaked toilet water. This is a really old, tired hotel. Breakfast was fresh, adequate. We would not stay there again. You really get what you pay for. This hotel cost about $25-30 less than others in the same neighborhood. Next time, we would pay the extra to get a better place. (BTW:allowing children to play in or roam around the parking areas is not safe and is nerve-wracking to guests who have to navigate the parking lots. But staff did nothing about it.)

I won't do this again!

Worse night stay in a very long time. Fire alarm went off on Saturday night (Sept 8th, 2014) close to mid-night. Staff actually got upset with guests. I am a retired firefighter, and when the alarm went off nothing was followed as far as guest notification, I feel they just didn't care. One handicap woman had a hard time getting out of her room. Then to top it off, the next morning, I only had 1 full size towel in the room for 2 people. I was in room 386. I will NEVER stay at this Ramada again...maybe any Ramada based on how things were handled and how I was treated. G. B.

Ehhh...

I reserved the room one week prior, King size/ non-smoking, and when I checked in they gave me a double queen. I called and said it was the wrong room and hey said that they may not have the room I wanted available. I told them I made the reservations early and read them my receipt. Only then they said okay and immediately transferred me to the correct room. The room however was right above the pool with windows over looking. At 7am they must open the pool bc all I could here were children laughing and screaming in the pool from that point on. Also when I first got to the hotel I got stuck in the elevator, when the door opened the lady's response was "yeah, we've been having trouble with that one. Try the other." Not sure if I'd go back.

Average Experience

This hotel was average. There is a water play area for kids and there were a lot of them there. Walls are thin and noise levels were noticeable at midnight. Beds were not too sturdy. The hotel is on the dated side and some renovations dont really match. However, the value for the sub $ 100 range is not bad.

Loud and cold

Could hear everything in the hallway and room next door. Hallways were freezing. Breakfast was almost decent.

Pillows and No Shuttle

The pillows in the hotel were aweful. We asked for more and were told there were not any available. We pikced the hotel to take the shuttle to the airport and we had to end up driving as they had no shuttle planned for the time we were leaving. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Not Recommended

I stayed for business, my room was over 80 degrees on check in and I battled all night with the heater cycling between sauna and refrigerator; I did request a repair from management. The hotel itself was run down and in disrepair. My room door did not have a room number on it - I had to deduce this from the room next door which had its room number scrawled in marker on the door. I finally had enough at 5 am and checked out at 6am because I couldn't stand to be there anymore. The bathroom had someone else's hair stuck to the mirror and vanity, which I only noticed as I was getting ready in the morning. The hot breakfast was foul with few nutritious and no vegan options. Inadequate parking, and the lot itself is in bad disrepair with large potholes that fill with water and ice. This is an appropriate hotel for large children's birthday parties on a budget; there is a large pool area that is probably the best maintained part of the facility although certainly no gem. Woolf by stay here again for any purpose.

Business Trip in Lansing

The hotel was fine, about 3 stars. Everything was about what you would expect for the price. The room was clean except for a leftover champagne cork on the floor. The bathroom was acceptable. It was nice that there was an ironing board in the room. The breakfast was ok, could have used better fruit.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

The Lansing Mall is nearby, which has lots of good shops. The Pearle Vision store there fixed my bent glasses for free.

great last minute stop

Rather than drive to the airport at 0300...we booked this and drove over the night before. While we didn't use much of the amenities. ..they had everything we forgot to bring!
