Terrible Beds

The location was great, but to be honest for $300 per night the fact that my wife and I couldn't get a King bed when we checked in was annoying. We would have had to wait 1 hour in order to have a chance. 2 Doubles isn't the most comfortable. Then there is the small matter of the Sleep Number Beds. They may sound like a great idea, but who wants to pay that kind of money to sleep on a glorified air mattress. My wife and I both thought they were horribly uncomfortable. We couldn't imagine the majority of guests like these beds. I would have rather slept on the couch....but we didn't have a couch because we had 2 double beds instead of a king. A great location and atmosphere was basically drowned out by the terrible beds.

Disappointed

Stayed two nights. Had a bad meal at first floor restaurant/bar connected to the hotel-the prime rib was as much fat and grissle as meat. Tried to use the business center but the tiny out of date printer was impossible to use-either they need to post directions or get it fixed. Valet's made me feel like they were doing me a favor by letting me park near the entrance for a minute while I went to the front desk. Closet in room wouldn't close so the light in the closet never went off. Shower was weak and not very hot. Fan in bathroom did not get rid of steam. Tv was a bit outdated. Window had terrible view. Room seemed very dark. Vending machine down the hall took my money three times but didn't give me the snack (I was really hungry). Hotel was more expensive than most of the area hotels. But it was very clean and the staff was polite.

Fancy in the heart of Kalamazoo

The hotel is very nice although a little too expensive for Kalamazoo. Room itself was comfortable and there is a convenient parking garage right across the street. We chose this hotel because it is close to Bell's Eccentric Cafe http://www.bellsbeer.com. They have great food, beer and live music. Highly recommended. It is also close to Kalamazoo College - I graduated from there so we were able to easily walk over there to visit

We used to live here so we had a great location to start from, visiting friends and shopping. Downtown Kalamazoo is really changing, very nice, lots of new stores on the mall and great food.

Nice hotel

My only issue concerning this hotel was the daily charge for valet. I didn't have a issue with the charge but I should have been informed of this charge at the beginning of the stay and not at checkout.

My review of Radisson Plaza Hotel at Kalamazoo Center

This was my first visit to the Radisson Plaza while visiting Kalamazoo although I have dined at the hotel in the past (Webster's, very nice). Location in downtown was excellent as there was access to several restaurants (try Singapore Grill for local beer and seafood) and a wonderful coffee shop (Water Street coffee) within walking distance. My room looked over the air conditioning units and did not have the sleep number beds. I will request on the next visit. Overall, the room was satisfactory without being plush. Bed comfortable. Furniture a little plain and worn. Clean. I did not spend much time in the hotel but plan to stay again because of the location. Parking was easy.
