Needs Improvement

Needed a last minute hotel for cheap near downtown. It said it would be non-smoking, but it smelled like smoke and there was an ash tray in the room (our clothes/we smelled like smoke after leaving). For a quick night with not much time spent in the room it wasn't horrible, but definitely not a place to stay for longer than one night. If they just cleaned up the smell, it would be a million times better. Beds were fine and plenty of towels, but could be updated. The location was really good for getting quickly to and from downtown.

GREAT FAMILY NIGHT

Traveled to see event at Van Andel on a friday night in December, everything we needed and wanted was close by. Sat. morning took my 4 year old grandson to the pool and swam around for 1 1/2 hours because of the 12:00 noon checkout. Very enjoyable and relaxing time spent

Been to Grand Rapids many times. First time at the Travelodge. If you are looking for an old hotel that smells bad, has no customer service, and does a terrible job supplying an advertised free breakfast, then this is your place. I will not stay here again.

A total pit

This motel defines the term "dive." Rooms were poorly lit and poorly appointed; non-smoking rooms reeked of cigarette smoke; beds and pillows were lumpy and well past their useful life.

Convenient to most everything.

We traveled for a wedding&reception. This hotel was clean, courteous, friendly. The exercise room & pool were inviting to our young adult family. The breakfast waffles appealed to my spouse. The building is a slightly worn, older model, in an older area of town but convenient to nearby attractions and shopping. Everything worked; the water was hot; TV & refrigerator were reliable; the coffee pot made only one cup; the iron & board were attached together(hard to iron gowns. I could wish for a microwave but one was down the hall. No elevator for carting luggage upstairs. We would go again.

Travelodge very friendly and helpful

Staff was very helpful with accomodations. I was out there during a very large snow storm to visit my mom at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
