Excellent location!! Close to restaurants & downtown area...only drawback was parking garage was full and had to park block away & walk back to hotel. Wasn't too bad when checking in, but leaving & carrying all the luggage was a pain...

My first impression of Grand Rapids was a good one!
This hotel is clearly geared toward the weary business traveler who must still remain active while on the road. You get a comfortable bed with lots of soft pillows and the bathroom was bigger than my bathroom at home. More importantly, internet access was available in both wired and wireless flavors, with no additional fees! The desk in the room had ports for power, ethernet and even audio/video, so I could use the room's flat panel TV as a giant computer monitor...such a thoughtful touch!

Kid Rock Concert Package
The hotel has an excellent location in downtown Grand Rapids walking distance from the BOB(Big Old Building) which contains many bars and dining experiences and then right next store to the Van Andel concert venue. In fact you can even walk the sky walk from the hotel to the concert venue so we did not even have be outside on the way back to the hotel.

Marriott Downtown is in middle of it all
The Courtyard is in the middle of everything going on in downtown Grand Rapids. As an added bonus, they held a bicycle race around the area of Van Andel Arena which could be viewed from the hotel. The pedestrian bridge just outside the hotel allows parking your car and walking to everything on the other side of the river: the G-R Public and Gerald Ford Museums and GVSU. The Van Andel Arena, great restaurants and pubs are also very close. The only downside is that the downtown area just east and south of the hotel is under significant construction and a GPS system will not be as useful as it could be. We held a large family breakfast in one of the meeting rooms and it was well-catered and ready as promised. The hotel staff is friendly to visitors, as is just about everyone in Grand Rapids, and helped us achieve our trip goals.

We held a function at the unique San Chez Spanish Tapas restaurant which is only three blocks from the hotel and well worth the walk. The downtown construction makes parking difficult, but it's worth the effort.

Great location
This is the second time we stayed at this hotel while attending an event at Van Andel arena. It is a clean inviting hotel with a sky walk over to the arena. The morning breakfast buffet is wonderful and we will stay here again. The room was comfortable and even though we were close to the elevator we all slept very well.
