Treetops or Tree House

The room accommodations were nothing special. The place smelled of smoke, though all of Michigan is now no smoking. I was told that guests go out on the balcony of the room to smoke and leave the doors open. Whatever. Small screen TV and marginal reception. No elevators and very long walks to some rooms. The place looked and smelled like an old rustic lodge. Nonetheless, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, though not immaculate. The magnificent views and the meals at the restaurant, across the parking area, were fabulous, which helped to make you forget about everything else.

Great Northern Getaway

Large, comfortable clean room. There is plenty of space to gather with friends and family to eat, play a game or watch TV. The view from the patio was gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was no dining in the building... you needed to drive to the eating area.

Beautiful setting

Treetops resort is a golf/ski resort. Located a short distance east of Gaylord, the setting is very beautiful. The room was huge, two beds, a couch, frig, microwave some dishes, etc. The whirlpool tub/shower was also huge. It may be a tall step for some to enter the shower. The bottom track of the shower doors was loose and the caulk no longer did any good. The bathroom fixtures were gold indicating the facility has a few years use and is probably ready for an update. But, I'd stay there again, for sure.

Big Buck is a dining experience you don't want to miss. A microbrewery that even makes blackcherry and vanilla cream soda.
