Econo Lodge Gaylord

The place was very run down, not well lighted (for a reason), and the continental breakfast was poor. The web site said I would have a coffee maker in my room. When I mentioned it while I was checking in she said there was not. So she pulled a full size one out from under her desk and had someone else put some coffee grounds in a plastic cup for me . ( I had to stop at a store and buy coffe cups, because the only cups that were in the room were plastic.) To be fair--the staff tried to be helpful, but it was just sad.

Friendly desk people, very low price, older motel but clean, ok bed pillow and linens. Not close to the other motels so may not get as much business, but the price is great! Be sure to call and ask, you can even get a better deal on the phone.

The town is nice, however this hotel was horrible. Got there, the parking lot is not even plowed (and theres a lot of snow there). No pool because the roof caved in on it, the ice machine was broken, the phone didn't work and the toilet didn't flush right. The only positive thing I can say is that the room was clean. Cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Came up for snowmobiling... It did the job. I didn't find a breakfast...

Although the building is dated, the room and bathroom were clean. Our king bed was comfortable. What would have made it better would to have an in room coffee maker and fridge, and maybe wireless internet in the room. I thought it was a nice place for the basic shower and sleep needs.

For a two star motel, I found the room and bed to be comfortable. Although the room did not smell of smoke, the hallways did. This was supposed to be an completely non-smoking facility.

Horrible experience....the beds had been slept in, towels were dirty, the bathroom was filthy, the base of bed was stained with what appeared to be urine, dresser drawer broke, dust covered fixtures and a smell that was beyond belief. The pool was green and the filters appeared to not be working.We left and we were able to book the last room at another hotel. We spent money and were unable to stay because of the above!!! The rating should be negative 10!!!!

I was in the Gaylord area for a golf weekend package and decided to come up a day early and explore the surroundings. The Econo-Lodge proved to be an excellent location and a tremendous value and I would highly recommend this particular location.

I had read some bad reviews about this hotel so we were going through Gaylord prior to our stay so we decided to check it out. I met the owner of the hotel and he was very personable and friendly. I told him why I had stopped and he stated that unfortunately the reviews are on a previous Econolodge. Some of the bad reviews were the carpet was worn, hotel was smelly, pool water was green. I found that the pool water was fine and I did not think the hotel was smelly. As for the carpet - I don't go to a hotel for the carpet, I go on the basis of economical cost and I thought this hotel was very economical. The continental breakfast was good. The owner of this hotel was really nice and hospitable. I would stay there again.

Very helpful desk worker. New carpet being installed throughout & new beds. New air conditioner not quite working right but we got the room cool eventually. Swimming pool not yet heated. Satisfied overall and wish them luck on their upgrade.
