Great Hotel
Tom Aug 30, 2009
The rooms were really spacious, two separate rooms. Beautiful block glass around sunken tub. Bed was incredibly ... comfortable. Large flat screen TV's in both rooms. Great location, next to Greektown (restaurant area) and across the street from Greektown Casino. People mover stop (Above ground light rail system) right there as well. Took people mover to Tigers and Lions game although you could have walked as it was only 4-5 blocks away.

Hectic check in but nice hotel
Concert goer Aug 25, 2009
Stayed overnight for a concert at ford feild. Concert was at 4pm and check-in was at 3pm. The hotel was sold out for the ... concert so you can imagine that everybody was there to checkin early. The hotel would not allow people to checkin early which was odd and made for a hectic checkin. We traveled with friends for the concert and when we made reservations we requested adjacent rooms. Well the hotel did not pre assign rooms. Our friends checked in first, but there weren't any rooms availible near theres when we checked in. The front desk person said that she would block off a room near out friends room when one became avalible so we would be able to make it to the concert on time. Well when we got back from the concert I found out the the person at the front desk did block off the room, however another person gave the room away. So our friends ended up on the 9th floor and we were on the 5th floor. Other than the check-in the experience at the hotel was good. The rooms were very nice and had an interesting lay out with a small living room and a bedroom. In the morning at check-out the hotel made up for the mixup with rooms by giving gift certificates to the breakfast buffet at their resturant. The buffet was very good. Other than check-in the service at the hotel was great. Would recommend staying at the hotel and I'm sure that we will give them another chance.

There just to sleep. Aug 23, 2009
We signed up for a junior suite with 1 king size bed, non smoking. We were put in a room with a queen bed and smoking. ... There is a lot of night life around the building so you hear the outside music. Check in was slow with just two staff members checking people in on a busy day. Their valet parking costs $20 at the desk. The room was clean, bathroom great both in size and amenities. Are room was small but very adequate. We had the smallest one on the floor according to the floor plan. The others looked to be twice as big. The staff was very courteous and eager to help they just didn't have enough at the desk for a busy day.

People were friendly & professional. The rooms were clean & of modern architecture. Some noise did flow through the neighbors ... wall but only slightly noticable. Hotel bar/restaurant easily accessible & close to the Greektown casino. Within walking distance of the River-front, Ren-Cen Movie theatre, various restaurants and the ice hockey, football & baseball arena/stadiums. Would've enjoyed the availabilty of a fitness center @ the hotel but a YMCA @ the GM building would give a day pass to workout.

The Antheneum was a nice place to stay in Detroit. The room was large with a good view of the city. I enjoyed having a ... separate lounging area so that I could stay up late and watch TV; while the rest of my family was sleeping. It is located in the heart of Detroit with many convenient restaurants and sites to visit. The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions and recommending the perfect places to eat. I will be back!
