Enjoy the suite life in Detroit’s lively Greektown district

The recently renovated Atheneum Suite Hotel is ideally located in the heart of Detroit's lively Greektown entertainment and dining district. Each well-appointed suite features traditional décor with modern Greek flair, fantastic city views, and oversized marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs or whirlpools. The all-suite hotel sits adjacent to the Greektown Casino, restaurants and nightclubs, and the property is a short walk -- or hotel shuttle ride -- from a variety of other top Detroit attractions.

Highlights
  • Luxurious, all-suite hotel in the midst of Detroit's popular Greektown entertainment and dining district
  • 174 elegant suites of varying sizes, from a charming studio to a two-bedroom home away from home
  • On-site, award-winning restaurant, Fishbone's Rhythm Café, serves authentic New Orleans cuisine
  • Staffed and equipped for business meetings and events of any size
  • Valet parking ($18-$20 per day)
Rooms

Following a recent multi-million-dollar renovation each of the Atheneum's eight different-size suites guarantees wall-to-wall luxury -- from giant windows overlooking Detroit's awesome skyline to huge marble bathrooms. Every newly furnished suite features a 42-inch LCD television, complimentary Wi-Fi service, and MP3 player connections. Guests can lavish in a host of premium amenities, including a stocked mini bar and 24-hour in-room dining service.

Features

Whether traveling to Detroit for a family vacation, business meeting, or romantic weekend getaway, the Atheneum's guests stay in elegant style. The impressive marble lobby features towering figures from Greek mythology. Ancient tradition gives way to modernity, however, with the range of upscale services available, including a well-equipped fitness center.

While the Atheneum's prime locale puts guests in the midst of some of Detroit's finest cuisine, only steps from the lobby are four distinct dining options: Fishbone's Rhythm Café (New Orleans cuisine), Mosaic (international), Pegasus Taverna (Greek), and Pappy's Sports Bar and Grill.

I nice night out

It's a nice place, but competition there has hurt them. They are outdated compared to all of the casino hotels that are nearby (MGM & Greektown) as well as the Westin, which features Roast (a great steakhouse that Michael Symon owns). The service is lackluster there in comparison to the other hotels too. The location is awesome though! You are in the heart of Greektown. So close to the highway so convenient to get to Ford Field, Comerica, or Joe Louis (people mover takes you to Joe Louis and the others are very walkable). If you want convenience go there, if you like a nicer room, spend another $50 and go to MGM.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Every Detroit sporting venue is within walking distance or you can take the people mover directly to a Red Wings game from the hotel.
