Very charming hotel that is more like a bed & breakfast

This is a real gem in Detroit. I loved their shuttle service that took me to restaurants and to the baseball game! Also, excellent breakfast every morning. I highly recommend the Inn on E. Ferry Street.

Lovely Boutique Hotel

Front desk staff was welcoming and friendly, as was the bell person. Good location for a game at Comerica park, they offer free shuttle service within 5 miles. I had a clean and cozy room in one of four Victorian mansions, each had a porch with table and chairs to relax. The complimentary continental breakfast was fantastic, a great way to start the day. Overall an excellent experience at a great value!

Historic Stay

The Inn on Ferry Street, made up of 4 beautiful Victorian homes built in the late 1800's is perfectly situated in the heart of Detroit's cultural center. The room was very well equipped and included a small coffee maker. Breakfast was also included with the price of the room. A nice selection of foods and beverages. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. For those that need it, a shuttle is available to get around. I loved the location, a short walking distance to The Detroit Institute of Arts, a fantastic museum with it's beautiful Diego Rivera Court, The Detroit Historical museum and several others. Also within short walking distance is Wayne State University, which includes several building designed by Minoru Yamasaki. While not the heart of Detroit's restaurant scene, there are several nice restaurants in the area that you can easily walk to. I really enjoyed my stay at The inn on Ferry Street and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Head over to Detroit's Eastern Market. There you'll find a wide variety of shops like Detroit Mercantile Co, Salt & Cedar letterpress studio, Signal-Return Letterpress Shop, Germack Pistachio Co and DeVries & Co 1887 to name a few. There's also several nice dining options.

I loved the ambience, it was wonderful.

If you are away from home, this is the place to stay. It is comfortable, yet elegant, like having your own home in a different city. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and always presented beautifully. The sitting room in the "house" was perfect to sit and sew or read in. I could walk everywhere, and the shuttle took me were I could not. The staff were charming and knowledgeable. All in all, a perfect holiday.

Best hotel in Detroit!

This is my 2nd wonderful stay at INn on Ferry St. I have found the place outstanding in pretty much every aspect. All of the staff are very accomodating and helpful. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The breakfast is amazing! and 24/7 they have good tea and coffee, amazing pastries, and fruit available. Each house has its own comfortable common space. I enjoy the midtown location and proximity to Detroit INstitute of Arts. I'll definitely stay here again!

The gem of Detroit

I had trouble hiking the 3 floors to get to my room (no elevator). The Innkeepers graciously offered to change me to a lower room, but I declined, too proud to admit my limitations. Unless you're in great physical shape, ask for a first floor room.
