Historic & cozy
Great service & room's, the free shuttle around town was great and if you get a particular driver you can get an in depth knowledge of the area. The only drawback is of there being no microwave or mini - fridge in the room's, but the staff will let you use the main kitchen if needed, it is a boutique hotel, other than that I would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Fabulous place to stay
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds were neat and the lobby and rooms were absolutely beautiful and clean. The shuttle driver is very knowledgeable of the area and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was delicious and the fresh fruit wonderful.

Great Downtown Detriot stay
Went to see Jersey Boys at the Fisher Theatre. Not being familar with Detroit, I was attracted to the shuttle service. The stay was 12/21, so with the holiday they weren't as busy as usual. The shuttle driver,Robert gave us a brief tour of Detriot.Among the sites we drove by was Motown. We were taken promptly to dinner.Picked up and driven to the theatre in the same fashion. The breakfast was very good.Lots of fresh fruit and pecans with your waffles. The room was clean. The bed comfortable. It was a great experience.Highly recommend.

The location was great for going to the Fisher Theatre. It was also a good location to several restaurants. We ate at the Union Street restaurant which had a 30s Art Deco setting. The food was good and moderately priced.

NICE!!!
I was there for a residency interview. That was an amazing experience staying at the Inn. If you're a history buff and not in Detroit just to visit the Henry Ford museum (coz its a bit far from there and the cab will charge you like $25), thats your best bet!

Inn on Ferry Street Pleasant Surprise
The Inn on Ferry Street was one of the best travel experiences I have had in the past two decades of business travel. The restored homes are like museums with the woodwork and architecture and yet had a the most pleasant home atmosphere. Each of the houses has a great large common meeting area besides the nice rooms. The rooms were amazingly detailed and pleasant with ample working desk space and wireless internet service.Beyond the beauty and comfort, the place was quiet and incredibly peaceful. My friends stayed at the busy Marriot and though it was nice, I had great comfort, peace and quiet each night and morning before business. I showed them pictures and they were jealous. [...] The full breakfast was a great start each morning in a large room without a TV blaring, and somehow the staff and guests maintained the quiet atmosphere. The pace just seemed to slow down while there compared to most of my travels. The complimentary shuttle sealed the package and they had no problems dropping me off and picking me up each day. The drivers were knowledgeable and pleasant. They shared the history of Detroit, and the Hotel and suggested places to go. The Detroit Institute of Arts is one block away and I was able to visit that fascinating place on my last day which seemed so appropriate to the Inn itself.I can't say enough good things about it. I normally would never take the time to write this, but it's the least I could do considering how pleasant the stay was. [...]I would recommend this place to anyone in their Detroit travels and already have about 20 times while I was there.

Short walk from hotel
The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA)is one block from the Inn on Ferry Street and worked out even with a short 3 hour visit. I could have spent days there, but it has hundreds of exhibits that fit the century plus old buildings making up the Inn. Tons of original paintings and many sculptures from around the world.

Excellent!
Outstanding and elegant hotel and outstanding staff! In addition to the quality of the rooms, this hotel includes a very conventient free parking, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and a complimentary shuttle service. My wife could not have breakfast in the morning. When we came back at noon, the staff had prepared a bag for her full of goodies. This is quality service!

pleasantly surprised
we were somewhat skeptical (especially my husband) about staying in a bed and breakfast in DETROIT City but it was everything the reviews said it was. The staff was wonderfull, the rooms were clean, breakfast was great, and we really loved having shuttle service which they ran past the 11 o'clock cut off due to the high volume of guests who were all attending the Kenny Chesney concert. The Inn on Ferry St. is a great value for your money and we would definitely stay there again.

Impeccable Gem
I was in Detroit for a conference at Wayne State University. Ferry Street is located on a quiet street with beautiful gardens. A quick walk to campus. Centrally located from DIA, Detroit Historical Museum, & a huge Public Library. Staff were pleasant even when caring for a large family reunion and conference attendees, all with very diverse needs.

Great Inn
The rooms are really cute, though a little small. The breakfast was fantastic and the service was great. I would definitely stay there again. It's a short cab ride from downtown.
