Comfortable and Unique
This is certainly not your run-of-the-mill hotels!!! It is crafted into a number of Detroit's old mansions so has an atmosphere of subtle wealth and pedigree. The rooms are large and each is uniquely decorated. Surprisingly for relatively old buildings, they stayed remarkably warm and heated up rapidly when the heating was turned on. The complimentary breakfast was also not your usual run-of-the-mill hotel breakfasts - but included an abundance of fresh fruit (even raspberries!!!), pastries, and cereals - and Starbuck's coffee. Free shuttle within 5 mile radius was also a great help, and covered the good local restaurants, WSU, and Detroit Receiving Hospital. Would be awesome for a leisurely holiday weekend - but also accommodated business travelers with free wi-fi - unfortunately, local VPN connections were blocked by the wi-fi which meant for me and my traveling companion, email could not be collected. Would have been great if our stay was a vacation - but alas, it was work!!! Also - being renovated older houses, there were no elevators.

Unusual Hotel
Very different to the usual business hotels. Atmospheric buildings and friendly staff. Couldn't get cable TV to work, (perhaps some instructions?) but apart from that couldn't fault it. very well placed just around the corner from the Art Institute.

would definitely go back
We when to Detroit to watch the last Lions game and stayed at The Inn on Ferry Street. As we drove through down town I became less optimistic about the quality of the hotel we were about to stay at, but when we arrived we were amazed at how nice it was inside. The staff is very friendly, breakfast was good, and the rooms were very comfortable. If we are ever in the area again we will be staying here.

Historic Buildings
This was a great location in the museum district and near both I96 and I94, yet the neighborhood felt safe. The 6 buildings that comprise this B&B are in the historic register and nicely maintained. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. We had a busy schedule of events with friends and did not get a chance to visit any cultural sites on this trip, but we hope to go back and stay at this place again and take in the nearby sites.
