Quick stop in Detroit

Too bad the Marriott team didn't ask if I was a Marriott Rewards member at check in. I did not recall seeing a field to enter my number at booking. The room was rather small and way too hot! Plus they had some construction going on in the building, which I could hear in my room. Good hotel other than that. I have stayed here before.

Great Spot

Nice hotel, but not as clean as one would expect. On site restaurants were nice.

Great view and close to everything! The room was great however the pillows were lumpy and I could hear the guests in the room next door.

Great Downtown Location

We had a lovely room on the 67th floor with a nice view of the river. The room didn't have a hair dryer, and it took 2 phone calls and 45 min. to get one. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the hot water, but our showers on Sunday morning were not as hot as they should have been- even after running the water for 30 min. The hotel location is perfect. So close to Greek Town, and the People Mover.

NAIAS

Stayed overnight for the Detroit auto show. Plenty of nearby independent parking ($9/24hrs on Saturday and Sunday), in addition to $25 valet parking. Great access to the Cobo Center (~10min walk). Nice room, clean, though a little small. Excellent staff, a good bar/restaurant in the hotel, and a couple good nearby restaurants.

Weekend Event

We were in town for the weekend to see the Taylor Swift concert. This hotel could not have been in a better location! lt is centrally located to most event arenas. You have direct access to the people mover or a nice walk to all arenas. Hotel was very clean and staff very courteous. Check in and out times were roomy enough for us to have a good amount of time to be able to walk through the local part of the city as well as go to the concert. The only thing missing was free wifi in the rooms. Other than that: will definitely stay at again on my next overnight visit to Detroit!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Get off the People Mover at Greektown for lots of food choices and for a short walk to Tiger Stadium or the Opera house.

Restaurant across the street was just alright. Atmosphere was great with the big being played and all the local fans watching but the food was not very good at all. Options in the area are limited.

Good for business travel

Not the nicest Marriott, but not the worst either. If you are doing business in the Detroit area, it is easy access to all major freeways and businesses in the downtown Detroit area.

New Year's Stay

The room was no-frills but the view of the river and proximity to the people-mover made for a great New Year's overnight.

RenCen

The hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect, very high end but the original building design can at times make you feel as if you are in a spider's web trying to get to where you would like to go. I would still stay there again now that I have a better understanding of the layout. Note: Newcomers should study the hotel/ building map before leaving the room :).
