Driven by quality in the Motor City suburb of Dearborn
Henry Ford got the Motor City started on its road to international renown, so it's appropriate that a world-class hotel overlooks Ford's world headquarters. The Hyatt Regency Dearborn rises dramatically above this pleasant suburb between downtown Detroit and the airport. The hotel, designed by famed CEO-turned-architect Charles Luckman, offers the utmost in modern luxury, from sumptuous guest rooms with terrific views and deluxe amenities to the 24-hour fitness center and the full-service business center.
Highlights
- Campus-like setting adjacent to the Fairlane Town Center mall
- 772 spacious guest rooms and suites featuring Hyatt's signature Grand Beds
- Full-service conference center and meeting facilities
- Three dining options, plus in-room service
- AAA Four Diamond ranking for its upscale services, amenities, and décor
Rooms
Each of the impeccably decorated, spacious guest rooms and suites features Hyatt's exclusive Grand Beds, with ultra-plush pillows, soft linens, and thick down blankets. Deluxe amenities include a large bathroom, oversized work area, iHome stereo with iPod docking station, and high-speed Internet access.
Features
Henry Ford would hardly recognize Dearborn, where he was born in 1863, yet he would surely marvel at the opulent Hyatt Regency hotel that now overlooks the headquarters of the auto empire he built. The spectacular, 16-story atrium lobby and plush seating areas instantly provide a sense of the upscale environment that characterizes the entire hotel.
Perks serves Starbucks beverages, pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Talented chefs at Giulio & Sons Restaurant create a tantalizing array of steaks, seafood, and Northern Italian specialties. Archimedes, an attractive bar and lounge, is perfect for cocktails, appetizers, and light fare.
Guests relax and rejuvenate at the hotel's indoor pool and 24-hour fitness center, outfitted with state-of-the-art workout equipment.

One night stay
Hotel was excellent as usual! The room was clean and the food and staff were first class. Had stayed there last week of September this year for owners conference. Nice to recognize same pleasant people working there.

Not a good value hotel
I had to change my room as soon as I've checked in due to children being "playful" as they are in the adjacent room. I had to call and request a phone call to upstairs from children to stop jumping so I could work that evening. Rooms are small for a king size and badly designed. Bathroom are smaller and seriously outdated - definitely the original install since the hotel was opened to service. Next morning when I went to the restaurant to have a fixed rate at $19 self serve breakfast, I have been asked to pay it up even before I get my breakfast. Then, when I got up to get my toasted bagel, it was cleared before I came back to my table. I have left an envelope for someone with some papers to be picked up from the front desk, they couldn't find it when it was claimed. The next day, I have insisted it to be found. After a lengthy search they found it. It was opened and stapled again (there four staple holes on my papers instead of two as it was left it originally). There is one coffee shop which closes at around noon. Will not stay there again.

I had high expectations for the Hyatt. The outside and entrance of the building is extravagent but the room was simply average and the bathroom was small. Good location right across the street from the mall with a variety of options to eat.

Reunion get together
I expected the Hyatt to be a little more updated considering the price paid. The lobby furniture needed to be replaced & the lobby carpeting was also torn. Hallways could also have used some new carpeting. All staff were very pleasant though. The location itself is in the center of Dearborn so it is a good mid-point for all travel.

it was okay for the money
After getting to our room we found the lights were not working properly. Since we were only staying overnight we did not think much about it but in the morning when trying to take a shower, the shower did not work. The hotel gave us a credit for all the issues but I would say it was pretty uncomfortable

Great time in the D,
Great locatiion/price for a tourist seeing Detriot. Bar drinks were a little expensive. $14 for a thin medium priced scotch on the rocks & no entertainment, But the room was nice and service was friendly.
