Mountain Run at Boyne is a chalet-style resort and skiers paradise that offers direct access to 14 ski lifts and over 50 trails for all skills. A few special suites actually provide guests the chance to ski in and ski out at the base of the Super Bowl, one of the most popular black diamond runs on the mountain. The resorts accommodations are exactly what youd expect from a mountain resort, and then some. Just like home, the suites feature fireplaces and cozy decor, perfect after a long day on the slopes, biking the mountain, playing golf or exploring the beautiful Michigan countryside.

Great Place to Ski Michigan

The room was as described, one bedroom with a pull out bed in the sofa. Enough to comfortably fit four adults and their ski gear. Excellent location relative to Boyne Mountain.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Get to the main lodge restaurant before 9 to get good dinner deals. Sloped close at 9 and so do the dinner deals.

Just Ok

Don't expect to be impressed. Rooms and furnishings are dated and need updating. Good location to the skiing, etc.

Check out the local area. Good restaurants in Boyne City, our favorite is Red Mesa.

Very lovely accommodations. A little disappointed when I asked for a later check out (10 a.m.) and the best she could do for me was a half hour.

Mountain Run always a great choice

We have stayed at Mountain Run every New Year's for 5 years. They have a torch parade and fireworks at 10pm which is magical. Mountain Run is a great choice on property; roomy, full kitchens in 2 bedrooms and if combined with the 3rd bedroom, you have 3 bathrooms and 2 sofa beds (those are a little uncomfortable, save for sleepy children), easily sleeps 10. Good price option for that many. Mountain Run is always clean, beds comfy, 3 tvs in a 2 bedroom, nice balconies, quiet setting, love the washer dryer especially to dry those ski clothes, 2 blocks from the resort. Some ski in but you won't get those unless you book a week through timeshare. We shuttle skiers easily in our car to Boyne drop off, but there are also shuttles that are convenient and will pick you up and take you. Be aware Mountain Run can rarely check you in early, but plenty to do at the resort while you wait. You can even swim outside in pool 2 blocks away, fun in the winter. Avalanche Bay a hoot with a great arcade attached, but don't go there on main holidays; too busy. Folks at Mountain Run and Boyne all very friendly. Oh yeah, skiing best in Michigan in my humble opinion. Enjoy!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

2 blocks away are 3 great options. Ericksons is family dining with great view of ski hills and great ambiance and not too expensive, a good steak about $25 but lots of options $10-$15. Snowflake Lounge great for ski in lunch, serves Trophy room pizza but has a view with nice seating for families by tvs to relax between the slopes. Pearsons at the bottom of the hill is a pub with great food, no wonder always busy but not too hard to squeeze in at a table. Down the road about 5 miles is Red Mesa Grill, a GREAT Mexican restaurant, try the Salmon! Always love eating at Boyne, just not on New Years Eve when prices sky rocket. Then bring in good food to the condo and cook there!
