Worth the hunt
Good hotel overall. Very good location - once you know where to find it. Address is misleading - it's not visible from the major road that is the published street address. It is set back behind 3 businesses and one other hotel, accessible by a side street. Signage by the access road is too low to ground if your looking for a hotel rooftop sign visible from the road. Even in an area I was familiar with, I searched for 30 minutes & couldn't find it until I called & got more specific directions. Pull over & call as soon as you exit I-75. It's very close to the University Drive exit off I-75. Right now Tim Horton's / Wendy's is the best landmark. If you pass Tim Horton's you've passed the access road. Hotel website would be more helpful with more specific directions. Breakfast description misleading in that it promised some type of fancier egg dish but only had frozen egg sandwiches or hard boiled eggs. Overall breakfast service still very good and certainly adequate with enough choices for everyone's preferences.

Business trip July 2011
Decent hotel all around. There were amenities that I chose not to use, like breakfast, and catered dinner. I'm sure those were fine, i just didn't utilize those features. No problems connecting to WiFi. My GPS didn't have the exact location, so i drive by it initially. Decent access to multiple fast food, and chain restaurants.

Quiet at an excellent price
I booked this hotel at an excellent online price. The first two floors have rooms that open outside, the third floor has inside access (which I prefer). I was thrilled when the front desk asked which I would like. The AC was very noisy, but it helped to drown out my husband's snoring so I didn't mind. The breakfast was nice, even had make your own waffles. I would've liked to see some fruit, however. Great little hotel, quiet, couldn't beat the price.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Village, about 10 minutes away, in Rochester Hills is a great little place to shop. Also has a lot of great restaurants.

We arrived way before check in time, and the hotel clerk found us a room right away to check us in early. They also offered free dinners which was a nice option for people on a tight budget. The hotel was close to (20-30 min) lots of attractions like the Detroit Zoo, Summerset Mall, Casinos, and tons of options for food! I would definitely say this was a comfortable hotel to stay at!

Motor City Hotel had an incredible cover band that played while we were in town. The show is free which is everyone's favorite price, so check it out!

Nice place to stay near the Palace!
Very nice breakfast room, and it was very busy but the staff worked really hard to make it nice. The hotel is very near the Palace and we went to a concert there, was very convenient.

It didn't seem that there are any nice restaurants all along that Opedyke Rd. It's as though the area is still wide open for future development. If someone would build a nice sit down dinner place you'd make a fortune! You might want to look up nearby restaurants before you go, as we drove up and down and found nothing and ended up eating fast food UGHH!

Quick overnight stay
I have stayed at this location before. There is always something that goes astray. On this trip, it was missing staff that caused a delay. I had to wait almost 15 minutes before the only staff showed up to check me in. There was no sign saying they had stepped away. I checked outside to see if I could find anyone several times.I like the location of this Fairfield Inn and have stayed here several times before. This trip they checked me into the third floor, which does not have outside access. The hallway smelled. When I entered my room, there was a distinct body odor. I always carry air freshener and it was very much needed for this particular room. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The frig worked but was not very cold even after I tried to decrease the temperature. Overall, the room price from [...] and the location were good for this particular trip.
