Pay for what you get

The place isn't bad. You pay for what you get and if you don't care for luxury while in Ann Arbor and just need a roof over your head for a few nights but don't plan on being in the room that much then this hotel is OK for you. You simply cannot beat the price of this hotel.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

The hotel is pretty far from things you would most likely want to do in Ann Arbor (restraunts, campus, football stadium). If you don't have a car, expect long walking times, having to take buses or spending money on taxis

room smelled like some cleaning agent, air conditioner gave off foul smell, cigarette smokers all outside the hallways, old funky rooms, noisy parking lot next door otherwise, good location, cheap prices

I wouldn't have my honeymoon here but it's fine as a place to sleep.

The hotel was fine for us, since we were out all day and just needed a place to sleep. It wasn't particularly special in anyway, but wasn't awful.

it was ok

It is an old motel that needs a lot of repairs. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very small and needed numerous repairs. I think it had the original furniture in it. It was close to town and the highway that was the best part. I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't care where your staying

motel atmosphere

Lamp Post INN is a glorified MOTEL. We stayed two nights and they didn't replace the used glassware, toilet paper, bedding. They didn't even make the bed. We only had their continental breakfast the second morning and the toaster didn't work to make the english muffins. A true case of you get what you pay for situation.

Not that bad

We were in town for the PSU vs. Michigan game. The hotel met our needs and was an excellent price for the location and weekend. On the down side, it was very loud and we could hear the neighbors conversation until 6 am. However, it was very clean and the staff was very helpful.
