Lamp Post Inn

We went to a concert at The Ark in downtown Ann Arbor. This hotel is only 4 miles from downtown district. This hotel has very friendly, accomodating staff. The rooms are average but clean and a great value for the money. There are plenty of shopping businesses and restaurants close by. I stayed at this hotel last year while attending another concert at the Ark and will continue to stay there as it is so convenient, clean and a great value. The room we had had a small refridgerator and microwave which is also very convenient. Even though this place doesn't have an on-site restaurant, they do offer a continental breakfast for the early risers. Great place, great value!

You get what you pay for

The room smelled funny. The shower was old and a bit too creepy for me to use. There was a window in the bathroom that was unlocked (though closed) upon my arrival and led onto the roof that made me a bit uncomfortable for my safety. Overall the room was serviceable, but not very pleasant. There was a bed, a working bathroom, and a TV with basic cable. The room was oddly shaped and there was a panel in the ceiling for the attic entrance. The furnishings were kind of old too. Their were no curtains over the windows, just blinds. It was also very humid and the air conditioner didn't help much to dehumidify the air. Breakfast was free, but very basic, including plain bagels, oatmeal packets, cookies and coffee but no fruit, cereal, milk or juice. It was an all right stay, but I'm glad I only had to spend 10 hours there. I'm not going to stay there again though.

it was ok

It is an old motel that needs a lot of repairs. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very small and needed numerous repairs. I think it had the original furniture in it. It was close to town and the highway that was the best part. I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't care where your staying

Great place if going to football game

Didn't expect alot of the hotel for the price paid, and expectations held true. Fairly close to campus/stadium however and had a great time at the game!

Very accessible to the University and Downtown Ann Arbor

The Lamp Post Inn was very accommodating. If you need a late check in, be sure to call ahead and they will help you out. This is a great location; you can park your car here and take a bus into Ann Arbor (where parking can be quite an issue). The bus is very cheap! The room was clean and comfortable, with a mini-fridge for your convenience. The only issue were the blinds- one panel was missing so the room wasn't as dark as I would have liked, but other than this, a great place to stay if you are visiting the University area.

You Get What You Pay For

The associates were very friendly and accomodating. The motel is a little run down with age and the rooms have a smell but I used spray to help that. The contenental breakfast is a cheapie and not what one usually expects. Had to change rooms due to gaps in door where you coul see daylight. Walls paper thin making for noise. However, having said all that, I will probably stay there again as they are the cheapest in town and all of the rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. I guess you get what you pay for!
