Expected more for $75

I chose this hotel for my parents who were visiting for the week. At first glance, the hotel seemed nice. The lobby was well kept and the pool and jacuzzi were up to par. These were the only good things about this hotel. The room was not clean and the temperature in the room was uncomfortably hot because the control was broken. We expected the room to be cleaned on a daily basis like a normal hotel, however, this was not the case. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned everyday and had to ask several times to receive fresh towels. For $75, I would at least expect a hotel to provide a daily room cleaning service. If you are looking for a cheap hotel somewhat close to downtown Ann Arbor and aren't bothered by unclean rooms, then I would recommend this hotel, if not, I would suggest you stay away.

STOLEN CAR

Safety clearly isn’t a concern while staying at this hotel. Neither is customer satisfaction. My car was STOLEN while staying here. Not only did it take the staff over two hours to review the safety cameras—which they then claimed weren’t even working, but then this situation was never even settled. After the police arrived, all of a sudden the cameras were working again. An apology and a free drink were given, and that was it. A free drink? Seriously? Why yes, my vehicle was in fact comparable to one alcoholic beverage, but only one. Thanks for a complete slap in the face. Now I’m out of a car AND a vacation. If you want a piece of your life to be completely ruined, please feel free to stay at the “beyond-ghetto” Clarion Inn. This place needs to be shut down. They don’t care about the appearance and quality of their building[s], and they certainly don’t give a flying leap about the happiness of their customers. In return for their terrible service, I will post this complaint on every hotel review website I can get my hands on. After spending $260+ on hotel fare, I refuse to be treated like this and I hope to prevent future woes. I would honestly feel safer sleeping in an alley in downtown Detroit than staying here.

Highly recommend

This is by no means a 5-star hotel, however we had a really lovely experience. We received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi. Rooms were clean and the hotel offers something for everyone whether it is a pool, fitness room, hot tub, or even a bar! The continental breakfast was really good as well. Homemade waffles, eggs, sausage, and the usual bagels, toast, etc. It is right off the freeway and less than a mile from downtown Ann Arbor. Would stay again.

Comfortable away from home. Great for tourists or business travelers.

Very pleasant rooms with all the comforts of home. Continental breakfast is a nice touch and a great value.

Clarion Ann Arbor, July 21

air conditioning poor, dirty, cob webs and cigarette butts everywhere outside, cob webs over hot tub, strong cigarette smell in the non smoking room. I was extremely disappointed and disgusted and will never stay there again. I thought that Clarion Hotels used to be very high quality hotels?

The good the bad and the really bad

While the location was really very good for me, the hotel lacked the following: 1. No shuttle from the Detroit Airport (Cost $50 for the cab.) 2. The hotel was very dirty although one maintenance person offered to clean the room twice and did leave me extra towels. 3. The exercise room was opened at inconvenient times (not until 9 AM - much to late for anyone!) 4. The internet service and the computer are very old and need to be replace immediately. 5. Same for the radio, TV etc. I asked to have the batteries in the remote changed and was given a hard time - not very customer friendly. 6. Bathrooms on the main floor were filthy! Recommendation from a business consultant: 1. Clean and update the bathrooms 2. Clean, update and open the exercise room at 7 AM. 3. Make sure the pool is clean as well as the surrounding area. 4. The breakfast was dreadful and unhealthy - even the fruit appeared old. 5. Put in new lights to brighten the entry way. 6. Clean the parking lot - curb appeal is very important. 7. Train the staff in customer service. Would I stay there again - NO!
