Nice Place, Nice Room, Nice Location
Warren Oct 30, 2009
We had a nice room on the ground floor overlooking the bay. We would go back. Minor inconviences were wireless in available ... only in the lobby, and there appeared to be quainter (and cheaper) places closer to the center of town. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great little spot!
laughingphoenix Sep 21, 2009
Easily accessible location. Great views from balcony, and we loved the morning birdwatching on the river and its rushing ... sounds at night. Beds were not comfortable (squishy, no support), though room was large & clean. Heated pool and jacuzzi were delightful & well-maintained. Free decent coffee at all hours. Wish the free breakfast was open past 10 am, and that checkout was later than 11 am. Overall satisfied!

Bandito's Burritos is a great hidden place for cheap and authentic Mexican eats...and it is BYOB so you can save money by bringing a bottle of wine or some beers!

Quiet and Convenient
LJ and Benj Aug 17, 2009
We thought the best part was being close to Ogunquit but being away from all of the tourism. It was perfect because we had a ... nice, large room with a balcony that overlooked the wildlife reserve, and, when we wanted to go to the beach, the friendly shuttle drivers took us there and back.

Expected more, received less
Anthony Aug 2, 2009
The sheets were very uncomfortable and cheap, kept coming off the bed while you slept. Comforter had nasty stains on it and ... was very itchy. The price of the room was very high based on the quality of items in the room. Should only have gotten one star for the rating. The stairs leading down to the rooms on the outside are very steep and dangerous, thankfully it was not raining it would have made it worse. Made bringing luggage to and from room an ordeal. Free continental breakfast had very limited items and there was not enough room to sit with my family. Definitely would not recommend hotel to family or friends and will not use the hotel again when staying in the area.

Ogunquit River Plantation
AJS May 26, 2009
The hotel was quiet and seemed under-populated. The primary problem that I had was that there was no indication when signing ... up that the hotel was just barely outside of the range of convenient walking distance to Ogunquit center. This made it very cumbersome for us. The room itself was nice enough, though the bathroom area desperately needed new lighting and the shower nozzle produced poor flow. The shared balcony was very nice and the view, although marred by seasonal flux in the river, was very pleasant, especially at night. Wireless networking was excellent and, though I was warned that signal might be weak, was strong enough for all my needs.

Steven Oct 5, 2008
We only stayed one night on the way to Bar Harbor, but found the hotel to be conveniently located off of I-95. The hotel was ... quiet, had large rooms which were well maintained and overlooked a marsh and creek/small waterfall. The staff was friendly and helpful and the complimentary continental breakfast was very good. It is conveniently located near the famous Cape Neddick Lighthouse and I would definitely stay there again.

Good Family Hotel
Jeff Aug 31, 2008
The Ogunquit Plantation is good family hotel and in a good location if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of ... Ogunquit. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool and kayaking rentals on the property. The rooms were clean but a bit dated. Overall, it is a nice hotel for families on a budget.

Room very nice and clean. Only negative thing is that the balcony isn't private. There is no privacy with three or more rooms ... sharing the same balcony.

convenient to Ogunquit
Carolyn Aug 10, 2008
but not to Kennebunkport. We stayed at the Ogunquit River Plantation hoping that it's location between Ogunquit and ... Kennebunkport would give us the opportunity to explore both areas. What we did not expect was the incredible traffic (in high season August)to get anywhere. While located on the main road, it is necessary to drive most anywhere which is extremely difficult given the single lane in each direction. There are a lot more shopping and dining options in Kennebunkport, so the few extra dollars to stay in Kennebunkport, closer to the water, would probably be worth it.

This is the second time I have stayed at the River Plantation. It is a great place to stay if you are not planning on ... spending a lot of time at the hotel. The rooms were nice and clean, but nothing that special. The breakfast is actually pretty awesome and included in the price which is great. The pool and hot tub are nice as well, but nothing to write home about. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and I would definitely stay there again.
