It was fast & easy check in and check out. Kid friendly. Decent indoor pool, workout area & breakfast. Staff was friendly.

I have stayed here multiple times with friends on weekend get away. Staff were very helpful with local places that deliver late night and provided a razor and comb to a friend who forgot his without acting like they were giving away free gold bars. Free coffee and cookies are offered all throughout the day and night. Beds were nothing special but the rooms were clean and stocked dailey of anything used. Any neighbor I had was fine with the room getting a little noisey but thats either hit or miss. Inside pool is nice: it isnt huge and was often super busy, so the pool water was dirty by the end of the day but was always clean by the next morning and was stocked with towels every 20-30 minutes. No hot tub. Hotel lobby was nice and inviting with plenty of places to sit and lounge. It also had a large tv to watch whatever was on. The only one issue I have is the free breakfast is from six to nine in the morning, which is way too early as often myself and whoever is with me do not wake up until after it is over (not saying we sleep until early afternoon, but come on who wakes up before 9 on a vacation?). If they extended the breakfast until 10 or 11, Id be satisfied.

The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Mattress could be a better quality.

I've stayed at Holiday Inn Express before, and wasn't expecting a 5 star experience, but my room had several things that were less than expected. To start, it was chilly out when I arrived (about 55 degrees) - when I walked into my room the AC was on High Cool and it was freezing in there. I was heading out shortly after I arrived so I decided to just turn it off so it would warm up by the time I got back. Well that was a mistake, because when I got back my room had an awful musty smell. I turned the unit back on and the smell did seem to go away. Then sitting in bed reading, I kept being bothered by small fruit flies. The room did have a small kitchen area which I assume had not been cleaned promptly in the past leaving behind these fruit flies. The pillows on the bed appeared to have been washed several times and were on their last legs - it took 3 pillows to be able to keep my head off the bed. I then tried to call for a wake-up call. The number given on the phone to call for that service did nothing but ring a fast-busy signal. I then tried the front desk number - same thing. The only number that worked was the 'hotel operator' which actually did ring the front desk. They were ultimately able to set up a wake up call for me, but not after much frustration. I would definitely choose a different hotel if I had to spend another night in Portland.

Quality not worth the price. Would not recommend to a friend at the price I paid.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was the worst!! The room didn't feel clean after they left, the counter had crumbs as did the floor. The didn't give us new soap, even though ours was used a bit after the first night. It felt like the hotel was cheap with the in-room freebies (no hand lotion or anything besides shampoo and conditioner) And the room was a bit small.

Having a breakfast available before heading out for the day was great. The food was good, even the eggs! Having coffee and tea available at all times was nice too. We had rented a car and went to the downtown area by the bay most days we were there. It was easy to get there from the hotel. The restaurants were great around the hotel area and the variety was good also.

Holland Inn once again did a Great job at impressing me; the location was very convenient, the rooms were clean, and the staff were freindly and efficient. It appears the rooms were being renovated, although the work was being done in such a way as to not bother any of the guests. My room was very comfortabel more than I expected!

Noisy air conditioner, refrigerator had to be replaced, and the TV was not usable, picture and sound breaking up....
