Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SOUTH PORTLAND

This hotel offers good value for the price. It's weel located as it is just beside the Maine Mall, mid-way betwwen beach of Old Orchard and good restaurant in Portland. However, Holiday Inn bought this building from another hotel brand. Although it's now 100% non-smoking, we can smell cigarettes on some floors as carpets were not replaced when it was renovated.

Ok, so Portland proper was all booked and we ended up in this corporate park across from the Maine Mall (the only mall in Maine). Not scenic, but... room was large and nicely equipped but smelled odd. Very clean though. Turning on A/C full blast helped. Still a tad mildewy. Outside hallway smelled of smoking. Staff was super-nice. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom shower had good pressure, tub area itself was eh. Would stay again in a pinch but not go out of my way.

This hotel was as advertised, a good hotel near Portland. It's relatively new, the rooms well layed out, free wifi, free breakfast was good, and close to the highway and downtown Portland, and parking was free and plentiful. We got a King Suite, which had a King Size bed and a living room with a half wall separation. This wasn't a true suite, but it was bigger than a typical room, and the slight separation does provide some privacy.

Everything was good about our stay except for the pool. We chose a hotel with an indoor pool because we swim daily. The pool was weird. No one was using it. We tried it once, but the experience was not good so we didn't go back again. It was closed down a couple of days later.

We arrived late to find out there was a water mane break and we were sent to another hotel. No one called to warn us and they didn't really care about the inconvenience. The hotel itself is just ok, the rooms are fine, I'm not sure it's worth the money. The staff is the worst part, unfriendly, unwilling to help, truly unremarkable. I definitly will not be returning.

The hotel was close to Maine Mall and some excellent restaurants. It was also convenient to places we wanted to go.

The hotel is close to the airport. They provide free shuttle service. The suite was nice and the price was quite reasonable. We visited with family in Gorham, ME. I enjoyed walking on the paths surrounding the hotel. The hotel is near the highway and the Mall, but it is located on a hill and the landscaping and paths provide a bucolic setting.

I brought my mom to portland for a weekend of shopping. This hotel is great. the check in is fast, the rooms are clean and its in a great location.

Fabulous room, great breakfast and the yummiest cookies in the afternoon! Close to highways, shopping, restaurants, and easy to access! We look forward to our next visit.
