I was disappointed with the room and the response from the staff when I mentioned the smell and the uncleanliness of the ... room. I felt the room should have been aired out and cleaned and the smell of smoke was over powering, we had to sleep with a window open all night, all of our clothes and the bedding smelled of stale smoke. I would not recommend a stay here, we had always stayed at Days Inn and assumed it would be nice.

The hotel was kind of old but was very clean and the staff was wonderful. We didn't have to deal with them too much but check ... in and out was a breeze, even though there were lots of people checking in and out at the same time we were. They had several people working together behind the desk and everything worked smoothly!

Never Stay at Days Inn in Portland Maine

[...] Woke up in the morning at 3:00am to take a shower, there was no COLD water, everything was scolding hot. We had cold ... water the night before but not in the morning. I called the front desk and was told "yeah, we have had problems in this wing" I was given another key to go to another room, on the other side of the hotel, to take a shower. Mind you I paid $20 more to have a room that "smelled" good. Apparently if I wanted cold water it would cost another $20. Horrible experience and will NEVER use Days Inn again and I will tell all my friends and family as well.

We had a pleasant one-night stay. Beds were comfortable. Room was quiet. The fitness room is small and you need to walk ... through water on the floor by the pool to get to it. The breakfast was excellent. We have stayed there several times and the breakfast room was always clean with a good selection. The breakfast room employee is always pleasant and helpful. She does a great job. Makes sure she speaks to everyone.

Great location, just off I-95 and I-295 in South Portland. Within walking distance to the Maine Mall. Lots of good restaurant ... choices nearby. Room was clean and quiet. Lots of space. Check in was a snap and the staff was friendly and helpful. Superb breakfast the next morning.

Nice for the price, great location

Have stayed here many times in the past and has always been a decent hotel for the price, nothing fancy but always clean and ... no problems. Close to many restaraunts and tons of shopping and just of from the interstate. They have added a small pool and hot tub since my last visit and a new breakfast area.

Horrible Experience

I never made it to the hotel because of mechanical problaems with the aircraft. When I tried to cancel the hotel, I received ... no help from either Orbitz or from the hotel staff. I can understand the policy of no cancellations if it were my choice, by when I have no control over the circumstances, I it uncontionable that an exception cannot be made. It is the last time I will ever use Orbitz for anything. Jim Grubb

Great Stay. King size bed was soooo comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Walked right next door for some ... lunch @ Chili's. Called a Taxi to go to the Old Port for a night out and was only about a 10 minute ride.

Portland Stay at the Days Inn

Our stay was short because we arrived late but the desk was helpful about getting something to eat and the next morning ... breakfast was served until 10:00 which was nice that we could sleep a little later.

Was flying out of Portland so wanted a nice room for the night close to Airport. For the price, the room was great. Older ... room but clean. Front desk staff very friendly and efficient. Walking distance to Mall, nice resteraunt in parking lot. It also had pool,fitness room and breakfast although we didn"t check these out. Would stay again

I was pleased with the friendly and helpful staff during my stay at The So Portland Days Inn. The Fitness Center was useful ... for my brother who was undergoing chemo treatment up the road at the Scarborough MMC facility.

Decent but pool and bathroom is small

For the money, it was fine. The pool is small and the hot tub was kinda grungy. The breakfast buffet was nice. Not enough ... towels for a family of 4 but we didn't ask for extras either. Room was basic & clean. Sink was in room with door to very cramped tub/shower and toilet.

Sebago Brewing Company is less than a mile away. As is the Maine Mall and the various chain restaurants that surround it including Chili's immediately next to the hotel.
