Overview

Travelodge has long been known as a family-friendly chain with affordable room rates, and Portland Travelodge fits that bill. Some rooms even retain the Sleepy Bear Den motif that gives kids a big smile with bear-print bedspreads, artwork, lampshades, drapes, pint-sized chair and a VCR for family flicks, available at the front desk. All ages find the free continental breakfast each morning a fine way to start the day. Most popular attractions are less than five miles from the hotel, including the arts district and historic downtown waterfront.

Rooms

Simple and basic, budget-savvy rooms at Portland Travelodge include complimentary wireless Internet access, a coffee-maker and a cable television with HBO, CNN and ESPN. Local calls are free and guests can request a non-smoking room. Upgrade to Business-Class accommodations to ensure in-room use of an iron and ironing board, mini refrigerator and a two-line phone.

You get what you pay for. A little gross around the edges, but served its purpose. Staff was very nice.

Nice Quick Stay

Would recommend Sat, Oct 10, 2015
It was a quick but convenient stay didn't bring home any bedbugs and did not see a cockroach. Next to Denny's which had good breakfast and also close to the strip joint. I think it was about $20 for a cab to Old Port. Definitely better then Motel6 which is across the street.

College visit trip

Would not recommend Tue, Sep 29, 2015
It was very dirty and smelled awful. I had to go purchase air freshener. The price was really high too. It was the only place available in the area or else I would have cancelled my reservations and went elsewhere.

Room smelly when we first entered. Bed too close to wall, window very difficult to open, bagels stale and overpriced.

The place is a dump

I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It feels like your typical sleezy gross motel. Super out dated with carpet and comforter stains. Place was gross.

Typical 2-star stay

Would recommend Fri, Aug 14, 2015
Chose this as it was the cheapest hotel for one night in Portland area. Everything was fine, but its worth mentioning that the chairs and the only one sunbed at the pool were dirty. Water looked murky. Panera, Chipotle, Dennis and the grocery store are steps away. Easy drive to downtown Portland.
