Straight Forward and enjoyable
* The room was perfectly clean and comfortable * I had the king room, which was great for 2 people and our dog...the fact that they allow small pets was a huge plus * Front desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly * Parking was close and convenient * The hotel was easy to get to I just needed a place for the night that was not too expensive. For less than $100, including everything, this place was perfect . The bed was comfortable and I really had no complaints. The steps are steep inside, and the halls are narrow, so I might not recommend anything off the 1st floor if either of these things would be an issue. Otherwise. Go for it.

Not your usual hotel
I enjoyed my stay. The victorian inn setting and decor were very appealing to me but it is very different from what some people would expect. For the price and location I thought it was an excellent value.

Nice Stay
The Inn was about a 10-15 minute walk from Downtown and all restaurants and bars. Room was clean and cozy with a cable TV. 5 minute cab ride from airport. Overall, it was a good stay and I would recommend it to anyone that is staying a night or two in Portland.

Inn at St. John
The Inn at St. John was a pleasant place to stay. A good location, and easy walk to the Old Port. Near a number of great restaurants. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. There was a mix up with my room, but no big deal, they gave us an upgrade as a result. Nothing fancy, but definitely worth a stay.

Inn at St. John
The hotel had charm. I was hesitant about the bathrooms being outside of the room but they do have rooms with bathrooms inside of the room. The rooms were kept very clean and had a nice decor that kept with the hotels history. I think the rooms were a little on the small side but for a quick weekend get away they were perfect. The service was very friendly.

Long walk from hotel
The food in portland is excellant. The was one of the main focuses of our trip. We read about all of the fantastic places to eat in the city and decided it was a must see. For breakfast we ate at hot suppa, the corn beef hash is excellant and so were the pancakes. Then we strolled along the old port and looked at all of the unique shops it had to offer. For lunch we ate at duckfat and had french fries fried in duck fat, excellant! and to top off our dining experience we took a short drive to cape elizabeth and had some lobster rolls.
