The hotel is right off the exit which was nice. it is out of date. It does not have an elevator so pack light! the fire alarm ... went off a few times one night for what seemed to be no reason. Had to request towels for the pool more than 3 times and then we ended up leaving the pool dripping wet bc they never came. No contiental breakfast. Not one of my favorite hotels. prob would not stay again

Ideally located off I-95, the room was quiet on the 2nd floor facing the parking lot. Ate breakfast in restaurant which was ... OK, outdoor pool looked inviting but didn't get a chance to use it, staff was responsive to requests for additional towels and sheets. Nothing fancy about the hotel but no problems which is more important.

Portland West was a very clean hotel. The staff bent over backwards to make sure everything and anything you needed or asked ... for was at your disposal. Whether it was driving directions, or dining hot spots, or Maine attractions, the staff made sure you knew how to get there.

Spent five days...much sight seeing. The room was always clean and fresh, made up beautifully upon each return. The King size ... bed was comfortable, and the bath towels in the bathroom, large and heavy. Good shower,too! Location: convenient: right around the corner is the entrance to the Turnpike....and just ten minutes from the airport. Good restaurant on the premises. Enjoyed our stay. The staff: friendly, and very accommodating.

It was a nice place and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was ... fine--great waitress-- but it would have been nice if they put out some muffins or bagels in the morning.

The Holiday Inn West Portland had an incredibly friendly staff that provided us with everything that we needed and asked for. ... It is also located very close to downtown Portland, the cab ride was only 15 minutes and very reasonable.

My daughter and Grandsons were up in Maine for a funeral. We stayed over night and found the pools very relaxing after a ... stressful day. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was just okay. Our waiter in training needed much more training!! Everyone was very helpful and we didn't want for anything.

This was a nice hotel in a great place(right off the interstate). The only complaints I have are that the beds were very ... uncomfortable and that the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. I don't think it was just our room that smelled that way though, as the entire hallway smelled.

The Holiday Inn Portland-West was very welcoming. The hotel was in great condition. There was both an indoor and outdoor ... pool along with a fitness room. The outdoor pool was located in the inner courtyard, so it seemed secluded from the roads and other building in the area. Also in the courtyard was a gazebo and chairs and table for enjoying the outdoors day or night. The room we stayed in was a non-smoking room with a king bed. There was also a desk, entertainment center, and comfy chair for relaxing in. The hotel is located only a few miles from the Portland airport and was a short drive down in the morning to catch our flight. They also provide an airport shuttle if you don't want to rent a car.

There were several restaurants both in walking distance and just a short drive. We found a Ruby Tuesday's and a Panera Bread just across the street. The passion fruit bagels at Panera were great!

This hotel was just what we needed for our trip to visit the Univ. of Southern Maine. The amenities offered gave it the ... added touch after a long day of interviewing school personnel and travel.

great restaurant and room service food

The room was very comfortable, the free Wi-FI internet service was great---the interactive TV Cable system was easy to ... use and had lots of great choices, best of all the room service food and service was really terrific and the food was as good as Fore Steet Restaurant but much more affordable. Oh, and the Hotel is very conviently located for getting to/from the airport, Portland and all points North or South-----Overall I was as impressed with this facility as I have been with really nice hotels. Oh, also they had a great pool and pool area and I did not even have time to enjoy it.
