Great Location in Downtown Portland. Close to sites.

Hotel had great view of Ocean. Staff alert and responsive. Not a fan of paying for parking if you are a patron of hotel, but understand that parking is a premium downtown.

Weekend Trip

I will not stay here again. Parking garage is too small for SUV's, front desk staff was not friendly, room was not ready past check in time, toilet and shower both had issues and were in need of repair.

Graduation Weekend

This was a graduation weekend. We wanted to stay in the Old Port as we were planning on going out in the Old Pirt in the evening and didn't want to drive. The hotel is older than other Old Port hotels and a 10 to 12 minute walk. The price is considerably less than other hotels in that area. Overall, worth the price and the short walk if your looking for Old Pirt hotel.

Trip to see Garrison Keillor at the Merrill Auditorium

The room was fantastic and an easy walk to the Merrill Auditorium. There was a bit of construction going on, but we funneled through it easily. Next time I hope to stay longer. My rewards points have not shown up yet though.

Great place to stay with family

I really enjoyed our stay and the beautiful view of the bay from our room. Room was quiet and big. Bed was comfy. Location is great. A short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Self park for only $10 a day at the hotel's parking garage. Over all it's nothing fancy but if you travel with kids and all you want is a good night sleep, this is the hotel you need.

Daughter's Graduation

The staff was so helpful right from the start. I had mistakenly registered for a smoking room and asked if that could be changed. The person who registered us was immediately positive that could be done, and found a way to make it happen. The room was clean and comfortable, and we loved the proximity to downtown Portland.

Great last minute hotel

We booked this hotel on our way to Portland, about 3 hours before we checked-in. The staff was super helpful, and the room was big and clean. Good for our 1 night out.

Winter trip to Portland Maine

My husband and I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and the hotel itself seemed very clean. The day before check out, we requested a shuttle to the airport for our 5:45am flight. The desk person put us down for the shuttle. The next morning when we came down for check out and to get on the shuttle, the desk person told us the shuttle was overbooked but that he had already called a cab to take us to the airport and that the hotel was taking care of it. I am not a morning person but this made my morning! So great of them to do that! :)

Wonderful staff who made our stay memorable

The Holiday Inn Portland by the Bay is conveniently located. I love the shuttle service which you can call anytime and are there to help you with transportation. The hotel is centrally located with a 10 minute walk to the harbor and around the city , its shops, restaurants, shopping , historical places. The hotel room is clean and well attended to everyday. There is coffee and water service at the lobby. The staff is wonderful...willing to help and recommend. The hotel restaurant and lounge area is also convenient and accessible any time.Would come back again.

Perfect location in Portland, and with that...

If you are in Portland for one day only, this hotel has a perfect location for exploring the city. Thats the best part. You have to pay $10 for overnight parking, the fast WI FI was way slower than my cell phone working as a hot spot, the windows could not be opened and with that you have the constant sound of LG fan/heater/ac. While trying to take a shower I got scalded as they dont have a simple anti scalding device in their shower. And all this fun for $300/night. It is better to plan ahead and reserve a B&B room in the same area.
