Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport

I travel quite extensively all over the country for my speaking engagements and have stayed in many hotels costing a lot more (double to triple what this one charged) that offered far inferior service, accommodations and amenities. This hotel was immaculately clean, including the lobby, hallways, and especially the room. The hotel appears to be brand new. Even the business center was spotless. Its location was perfect for the early-morning flyer (as I am frequently). The room, including the bed, was one of the most comfortable in which I had ever stayed. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Example: On check-in I mentioned that I wanted to go into downtown Portland for dinner. After getting settled in my room, about an hour later, he called me in my room and asked if I still wanted to go into Portland as he was preparing to shuttle a couple into Portland to catch dinner and a show. I was actually impressed that he remembered who I was and that I had mentioned it on checking in. I went downstairs and he took us into Portland. After eating and taking my own walking tour of the Old Port section of town, I called for a pickup and he arrived in about 15 minutes. On checkout, I was floored at the LOW price for the stay - less than half of what I paid for the previous night's stay. Despite being across the street from PWM, airplane noise is minimal. The only reason for 4/5 stars on amenities is the lack of a spa (facials, massages, etc.), which is important to some people (not me). This hotel did, however, have a very nice whirlpool and all of its other amenities (e.g. fitness center, etc.) were on par with the rest of the hotel. If I ever return to Portland I will DEFINITELY stay there again.

I was only there for 1 night and had a very early morning flight. The room I stayed in was large, comfortable, and clean. I wished I could have spent more time there, actually. As it turned out, I only spent about 7 hours there! For this reason, the cost was a bit high, yet I realize that was due to my schedule.

Clean, quiet, convenient

noisy, unplugged lights and an almost dead remote for the TV give this stay a lower mark than usual. The noise was the worst part. Elephants above and slamming doors. The room was very clean and the desk clerks were very friendly.

This was a clean positive airport hotel experience. The staff was professional and the facility was acceptable. We ate dinner in our room via room service - food was good, moderaltely priced but I had to pick it up myslef as there was not enough evening staff to deliver to our room. The 4:30 AM ride to the airport was dependable and seamless. I would stay at this hotel again if I had another early morning flight out of Portland.

Fine hotel. Great location very close to airport. Beware -- no refund if you need to change the dates of your travel.

For some reason we were given a handicap room. It was not appropriate and its special features were inappropriate for us. The building is basically concrete and footsteps on the stairs and upstairs were very noisy.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We did notice some noise from the airport, but none after 10:00 PM. The shower was not as clean as I would have liked it to be, I'm very picky.
