Great comfortable and welcoming hotel!

The staff at this hotel were just downright nice people! They all seemed genuinely friendly and cared about our comfort. We ... arrived about 7:00 PM and were treated to the "manager's reception" which included free "beverages" and cheese, crackers & fresh fruit. After traveling for hours, this really hit the spot. Our 2 room suite was large, clean, and comfortable. Though we were situated near the airport, we never heard any planes. The bed was great as were the 2 flat screen TVs. The included breakfast was just about as good as it gets. Cooked to order omlets and all the buffet items were fresh and hot. Even the bacon was crispy! We've been to other Embassy Suites and have felt basically positive about all of them, but this one is by far the very best! We highly recommed this hotel!

Excellent Weekend Getaway

Room was fine, location excellent, pool water could have been a bit warmer. Breakfast Buffet was good, had to bring food up ... to room for other family members, could have used some type of "take out" carriers. Coctail reception was excellent and snacks were very good also.

If you go down to the main street in downtown portland there are great places to eat. However our favorite place was a pizza place called portland pies and it is actually not downtown. It was the opposite direction from dowtown closer to the hotel.

The staff was very friendly. They assisted us with everthing we needed. The hotel is located within the airport grounds so it ... is nice an close. Downtown Portland is about a 10 minute drive. There was not much in walking distance. We had a car though and it was very easy to navigate. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was good! From my traveling experiences and working in a hotel, overall this hotel had wonderful staff, a comfortable room and an location easy to find. I would suggest staying here if you don't mind being close to the airport and driving to nearby attractions.

Great Place to Stay!

I stayed here because it was close to the airport. I was in my room 30 minutes after I touched down! The room was spotless, ... linens wonderful and room was very quiet. My only negative was that I got an unsolicited wake up call at 5:45 AM. Breakfast was excellent.

The new rooms were spectacular. The beds were the most comfortable beds ever. The staff was very friendly. We stay there ... often. We will be back soon and can't wait to see the finished renovations.

The Embassy Suites aiport site is right at the Portland Jetport, making it convenient if your flight is late afternoon or ... early evening. Check-in was smooth, staff very friendly, an excellent restaurant on site, and very comfortable room with comfy king bed. As Portland is not a large city, the wharf area and downtown are easily accessible. The Portland shopping mall is across the street as well. This hotel was as good as it gets.

The Embassy Suites - Portland was very comfortable. The suite had a bedroom and a sitting room. Both were a little dark, but ... good for sleeping. The room was clean, upscale furnishings, but perhaps a little worn. The best part of the visit was a very lively happy hour with live music. The music was performed by local musicians, the Tony Boffa Trio, who had excellent stage presence, and love for music. The atmosphere was infectious - it was very much like being at a live concert at an intimate cocktail lounge! Two other advantages: the desk clerk loaned me a laptop to check email while I listened to the jazz trio, and the restaurant had excellent seafood.

Hotel need to be upgraded

The Embassy Suite Portland,Maine need to be upgraded. The Hotel staff,location and amenities made my stay a good stay. The ... electronics was out-dated and my room had holes in the celling from rain.
