LOVE!!

This our second time staying at the Grand Beach Inn. We had a wonderful experience last year, and couldn't wait to go back. It is close to the beach, less than 1 minute walk across the street. And close enough for a short drive to town, but away from the noise. The staff is very friendly and the room was big and clean.

Very disappointed.

If you are lucky and get the remodeled part of the place you probably will be okay. But otherwise the other rooms are horribly outdated and not worth what they charge. The staff even knows how bad they were. We left early and thankfully were refunded our money. Do NOT recommend this place unless you get the remodeled units!!!

Relaxing family getaway

Our stay at the Grandview Inn was a nice stay. The staff was very accommodating. Our room was on the third floor and we found that our mom wouldn't be able to make the flight of stairs. The staff worked hard with helping us move to a lower level.

Off-Season Local looking for an "in-between" apartment stay!

When first arriving at the Grand Beach Inn, the front desk clerk was amicable and full of adequate knowledge of their job. They listened to our needs and recommended a "Balcony Room w/Full Kitchen." After a look at the amenities, we decided to book the room for an extended stay. (While most of our stuff is already in storage, I am still cleaning my old apartment, we have yet to find a two bedroom and Winter is fast approaching!) Unfortunately, we were not fully informed before driving to the hotel; in order to book an extended stay, you must fill out a small rental application which may take up to 72 hours to gain approval. To put this into perspective -- two nights including all surcharges, utilities, Wi-Fi, and Cable, totaled almost what it would be to rent the unit for an entire week! A spectacular deal at the WEEKLY rate! Not so spectacular at the daily rate! Unfortunately, when asking the clerk if the money spent would apply to a weekly rate their response was, "I think that wouldn't be a problem." I believe more information needs to be given to the clerks at The Grand Beach Inn; not only to help their patrons, who are deciding on a budget where to spend their money, but for their own best interest and advancement as well. (JMO!) There were a few issues, the kitchen sink did not have a spout, the sink handles are put on backwards and WE had to plug the refrigerator in. (It is a good thing we brought ice/packs and coolers!) The only other issues were with cleanliness. First, under the bed nearest the door were two shot glasses and a sticky bottle. Second, the white pillow cases, some had either dust or dirt on them. Finally, the bathroom tub was clogged with blonde hair. Overall, the room was comfortable and nice. Would this make or break a room for me, no! I would recommend this hotel to another person as long as full disclosure was given before driving there. Compared to other hotels I have visited, this hotel was Good! A++++

one night get away

The staff was very friendly and was able to honor request for early check in.Ceiling had rusty ceiling tiles which were loose. There was a spider in the bathroom and dead ones in towels. The toilet is very low to the ground so I'm sure an older person would have found this difficult.

Hope You're Not Looking For Peace

This motel is in a nice spot but once you are in your room, it is not so peaceful. The walls are paper-thin as are the ceiling and floors. When the people walked in their room on the floor above me, it sounded like a herd of elephants above me and the window in my room rattled. When a young couple checked in next door, I could hear every word they were saying. It is impossible to get a decent night's sleep unless you are an very heavy sleeper. As far as the rest, you get what you pay for. It is a tired facility that needs a lot of work but it's okay in a pinch when you don't want to pay too much.

Weekend on the water

We stayed here after a day hiking in New Hampshire. The staff was very friendly and helped us find a place to eat dinner in Portland. The hotel is one street over from the beach, and although we didn't go, I've heard that its lovely. The location is fairly close to downtown Old Orchard Beach. The only issue was with the air conditioning. It was 90-ish degrees and it took the air until midnight to get going. Overall though, good experience, fair price, great staff.
