GOOD PLACE TO SEE LOWER MAINE FROM!
MY HUSBAND AND I CELEBRATED OUT 45TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. WE SPENT 4 NITES AT THE "MARINER" ALONG WITH MEANDERING UP AND DOWN THE COAST OF MAINE, FROM PORTSMOUTHS TO PORTLAND. WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO VISIT FRIENDS IN WELLS,ME. AND TO SPEND A DAY AT "SCARBOURGH DOWNS" RACE TRACK, AN EVENT WE HAD SHARE MANY, MANY YEARS AGO TOGETHER. THE FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO MAKE OUR STAY ENJOYABLE. THE LIGHT CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS SUITABLE TO START YOUR DAY. THE COFFEE WAS VERY, VERY GOOD. EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN AND KEPT UP. WE WERE IN NEED OF NEW PILLOWS AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY WERE BEING ADDED TO ALL OF THE ROOMS. WE HOPE THAT SCOTT AND HIS FAMILY WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE A GREAT LIFE THERE IN A VERY BEAUTIFUL LOCATION.

Mariner Resort
We took our granddaughter to Ogunquit for the long weekend. Loved the large rooms and full sized refrigerator. The shower was also powerful. The microwave was handy as well. The indoor pool and hot tub were a hit. Staff were cordial and helpful. The only problem we had was with the brown sugar ants that got into food items on the shelves so that we had to throw cereal, cookies, crackers, etc away and get more that we stored in the fridge. Other than that, we were really pleased.

We brought along a small electric griddle so were able to eat breakfast and lunch in. Simple things like grilled cheese, french toast or scrambled eggs. And it was handy when you had a 4 year old who was often hungry. It was simple fare but saved a lot of money and to pack the small griddle took no room at all.

Very clean, but not much charm!
Ogunquit is so beautiful! I loved the 2.5 mile walk listed in the hotel guide in the room. It brought me through a marsh/wildlife sanctuary and then a stunning beach, and back on a foot bridge. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. What a great suggestion from the hotel!!

Mariner Resort
The people were very friendly nice place to stay. The only thing that I would have liked would be a 12:00 check out not 11:00.

Take the trolley instead of trying to park at the beach! It's a lot cheaper -- and footbridge beach is within walking distance.

The Mariner Resort in Autumn
We have never stayed at The Mariner before but have been to the area. We love the museum in Ogunquit. It is worth going there just to see the gardens and water views. The museum is small but interesting and not expensive like some museums. We have previously gone whale watching and on the lobster boat tour. We had lobster at The Lobster Shack in Ogunquit. We were actually here for a wedding in Durham so also spent some time in Portsmouth-only a 20 minute or so drive away. If you're around in the summer through fall, the Playhouse is lots of fun. Walk the Marginal Way. It's free!! Great views everywhere-at The Mariner Resort too.It was quite chilly this trip so we might not have done as much outdoor stuff as usual but just looking at the fantastic fall decorations the various hotels displayed was great. What imagination and terrific competitive spirit. Can't wait to return.

The Egg and I was a good choice for breakfast. The food is good and the service is excellent. It's not as long a wait as Amore in Perkin's Cove, which is also good but has a longer wait.

Great price pleasant staff
Basically a place to rest after 400 miles of driving while doing the NESEA solar open house tour. Didn't get to try the facilities, arrived late and no time, but the pool looked inviting and everything was very clean. Would go back next time In a blink. Nice staff too.
