Disappointing stay after 11 years!!!!!

After 11 years of wonderful stays at the Gorges Grant Hotel, something has gone terribly wrong with service and cleanliness - what a decline in room cleanliness and upon our arrival we actually found a large toenail on the carpet (ugh) obviously it had not been vacuumed. The front desk staff were helpful and made coffee whenever we requested it. The management allowed an out of control pool party (with registered guests and NON GUESTS) eating lobster and drinking and acting like it was their private pool in total disregard of other guests. (The signs state that the pool is for guests ONLY). When I reasonably complained I was told that most of the party had rented 4 rooms so obviously it was income generated vs. my concerns. Outdoor pool was dirty with bugs and leaves but indoor pool and spa was rather clean.(used bandaid near spa) there for two days) Nice USA today free every day. I am sorry to say that we won't be returning again after 11 years!!!! - so sad to see the declination in customer service and cleanliness. The Raspberry restaurant was excellent choice for breakfast right at the hotel.

Gorges Grant Hotel

We had a great time in Ogunquit, ME. We spent several days at the beach, visited Freeport(LL Bean), saw a show at the Ogunquit Playhouse and enjoyed the local shops and of course the food. We had a wonderful lobster dinner at the Hayloft, breakfast at The Egg & I, Omelet Works and at the Gorges Grant Hotel. All were excellent. The trolley stopped right in front of the hotel every 20 minutes or so and for 1.50 it took us anywhere we wanted to go until 11pm. Couldn't ask for a better spot to vacation!!

Be sure to stay close enough to town to use the trolley. Parking it anywhere from $5.00 if lucky to $25.00 per day to park at the beach. The trolley is the way to go unless you have a big group then try to park in the cheapest lot possible.

Nice Place

Overall it was a good experience. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The outside pool could have used a little skim off the top. The location was close to everything, and the trolley stops right outside the hotel doors. I would definitely come back again.

Great Place to stay!

Our get away weekend at Gorges Grant was wonderful. The staff was great, the room was very large and spotless, the grounds were beautiful and the pool was inviting. The hotel was recommended to me by a co-worker and I would recommend it to family and friends.

Quiet Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Gorges Grant Hotel. Our room was clean and a little above average. It was conveniently located on the main road north of the town. There is no beach view from the hotel, but if you go in late September, parking is free near the beach and traffic is not as bad. Our only complaint was that we had to wait patiently for someone to get off the phone to check us in. Their breakfast is better than most average hotel, but if you are looking for a more lively place, there is the Egg and I Restaurant almost next door. We also noticed that if you are traveling in late September be prepare for a much older crowd(over 60)!

Great Time, So Close!

Loved this trip! The hotel was just what my wife and I needed. A relaxing getaway in a lovely area. The staff was very friendly and made checking in a breeze. Our room was large, comfortable and spotless. The fact that Rasberri's was open for breakfast was a big plus. The hotel was close to the Kittery Outlets, York Beach, and very close to Marginal Way which is one of the nicest walking paths I have ever seen. Stunning views of Maine's coast with plenty of spots to relax, take pictures, and take it all in. I loved that we didn't have to drive forever to get to our destination. Just over two hours from the Rhode Island line and you're there!

The Marginal Way is a must see if you stay at The Gorges Grant. You could easily walk from the hotel but if you have plans to shop or travel later in the day, take the car and park just a bit closer.
