still not worth the money

i had requested a non smoking room, and reserved a room with a queen sized bed. We got in late, when we arrived there was one room left and they didn't even know about my reservation through [...] the hole hotel( if you can call it that) reeked of smoke. we got into our room, the toilet leaked onto the floor when we flushed it, the beds looked as if some one had just Gotten out of them, the sheets had stains on them from who knows what, the carpet had cigarette holes and stains on it that looked like vomit splatter. the beds were from the 1950's and i didn't even get the queen sized bed i payed for. two double's that were lumpy and felt more like a sleeper sofa mattress were all there was to sleep on. I reserved the room for two nights, and after trying to brave the deplorable conditions for one night. we decided to cut our losses and leave. the smell from the hotel room had permeated our luggage [...]

An inexpensive place to sleep

Pictures are better than the actual outside and interior appearance. The interior decorating left a lot to be desired. There were no cups in the bathroom and no tissues. If you are looking for a quiet, fairly clean, inexpensive place to sleep, then this is it. BYO tissues and cups. We got what we paid for.

Shelter from the rain

After spending a night in a pop-up camper in a rain storm that lasted 24 hours, this was heaven! We got a great night of rest to prepare us for a long day of homeward travel.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Freeport,ME is less 25 miles away where you can shop, go site seeing or eat out. Stay at the travel Inn and you'll save enough to have another $50-75 bucks to spend on something else.

TERRIBLE stay!

This was honestly the worst hotel experience of my life. The room was disgusting. One pillow had no pillow case, the other had a used one. The sheets smelled old. There was urine left on the toilet so it was obviously not properly cleaned before I arrived. There was also toothpaste on the faucet, which again meant not clean. The towels appeared clean but had severe stains, as if they were used previously as rags. I didn't even shower because I was so grossed out by the room and towels. I absolutely hated this place!

Good for the Money

The Travel Inn was a good deal for its price range, clean and convenient. When the toilet didn't work one night and I called to have it fixed a staff member came within 5 minutes and fixed it. If your looking for a no frills and cheap place to stay in Maine that is pretty near Brunswick, Maine this is the place to stay.

Not Tolerable

My wife and I just returned from our stay at the Travel Inn in Lewiston, Maine. We were given a room with stained carpet. We told the owner to ensure we were not blamed upon checkout, she stated she was aware of the stains. No free breakfast provided. No hairdryer provided. No bathtub but a small shower stall and small bathroom that we do not think is handicapped accessible. One positive comment was that the sink, toilet bowl and shower stall were new. No iron & ironning board Coffee machine is provided but no supply of coffee/tea. The outdoor pool was closed during our whole trip except the day of our arrival. We do not see any ice machine within the facility. There was no internet access. There was no hangers in the closet. The mattresses were in deplorable condition. The bed headboards were dusty. The room seem to be under renovation and had a musky smell. There were cobwebs on the windows and behind the bed. Overall the room was not tolerable. We were very disappointed with the room condition, we were not offered another room when we told the owner that the carpet was stained.

Barely tolerable

We needed to stay in the Lewiston, Maine area to attend our daughter's college graduation. It was difficult to find accomodations, even at this early time frame (Dec '06), so we took what was available. The Travel Inn Motel was very run down, in need of much repair and renovation. Upon check-in, our hosts commented on some pending rennovations. It's in serious need of paint, new bathroon fixtures, etc. Non-smoking rooms were not available and residual odors lingered for days on our clothing and luggage.
