Perfect Night
Great hotel, it was like being in a hotel in Europe. Staff were outstanding and the room perfect for me, one person, one night. The courtyard and resturant were a nice touch. Love the decor.

Just awful!
Maybe this place is historic, but it is also extremely "tired". Our room was just larger than the bed, with the slanted ceiling covering half the space so we felt like the room was caving in. We chose to drive back to Boston rather than stay.

Think twice.
The Inn is historic and over 200 years old. The floor in the room above us was noisey when someone walked, the stairs coming down from the 3rd floor were noisey and woke us early each morning and the shower did not work well. It was either freezing or boiling. Also, there was a sign in the bathroom that said that rooms 10 & 11 were on the old plumbing system so let the water run for 5-10 minutes before it gets hot..........

Kranky about Kennebunk
The Kennebunk Inn looks charming but was a disappointment. Our family suite was large with two TVs, and the antique furnishings look nice. But there was a four-inch gap between the bottom of the entry door and the floor allowed all hallway noise to enter the room -- barking dogs, the slamming of the self-closing door to the back deck, voices, footsteps on the hardwood floors, and the coughing, phlegmatic resident in a neighboring room. Our beds were uncomfortably firm, the queen attached to a wobbly headboard and squeaking frame. There was a single chair and no desk or table. The "shower" was a small, clawfoot tub that required a significant step up to enter or down to exit, with a 360-degree vinyl shower curtain that is in constant contact with the bather's body. The shower stream was more like a spray, automatically alternating between scalding hot and ice cold. What did we like? The brand of toiletries was excellent, the shampoo particularly pleasant. The towels and linens smelled great. The staff was friendly. Parking was convenient. And the restaurant's menu looked good, though we did not eat there. Finally, considering the price paid, I suppose I should complain less. But after three nights in this joint, I am exhausted and looking forward to going home.
