Wonderful Place

We were staying in the area to go to Funtown/Splashtown in Saco but also to visit Yorks Wild Kingdom further south in Maine. It was a convenient place to stay, very clean. Very nice outdoor pool. Places to eat within the area. [...]. Great staff at the cottages, very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Reserved a motel room at the same loceation because it was cheaper but when i got there they had overbooked the motel rooms so they put me up in a cottage for the same price. Very accomodating. Had a blast. It was my honeymoon so I wanted a peaceful out of the way place and the cottage was great in that sense.

Nice little place

It was a nice little place. You pay for what you get, which is mostly location. Didn't use the pool or anything but the room was nice and private; it was an efficiency cottage. You can park right next to your place which is nice. The rooms were dated but everything worked well. No VCR or DVD player, but as long as it is nice you are going to be at the beach or at the shops. Again, location is great here. You are minutes from Kennebunkport and Ogunquit, which both are great places. Great seafood and great views. Plus, you never know who you will see. Secret Service is always around. Taylor Swift was in town shooting her video. We only stayed here two nights and booked the B&B on the water for three nights after and she happened to stay where we stayed. Great vacation.

QUIET PLACE AND VERY BASIC COMMODITIES.

We did not spent any time at the hotel as there was nothing there to do other than the pool. we were out all the time and just used the hotel to sleep. It would have been nice to at least have a coffee maker in the room. I had to go out in the morning to get a coffee while my daughter was still sleeping.

Kennebunk Gallery or Bates Motel

This was a sort of scary motel. There were about a half a dozen rooms in a motel and a dozen cottages or so. There is no gaurentee to which you will be staying while making the reservation. We were in the motel and the floors slanted so that when you slept the blood rushed to your head. The floor was also quite weak and when others walked by the whole thing shook. The carpet was stained and a funky smell permeated everything. There were minimal ammenities and comparable hotels, motels, and inns around town with advertised prices that were comparable but much nicer.

Pitoyable

I was not expecting a lot, so on my arriving, I was more or less satisfied with the cottage. It was OK like C minus On my arriving, I asked for a one more night on thursday. The cottage I was in, was ont available the 8th, the landlord promised me the cottage no 10. Everything in these cottages need to be refresh: towels, curtains, stores, bath, cupboards, chairs near the pools. I accepted that without a word. On thursday, the additional night, the landlord change my cottage, it was not no 10, it was no 1., very bad, minable, pitoyable! Dust, dirty, no oven, 2 rooms, I didn't ask for 2 rooms, smoking cottage, I didn't ask for that. Would not recommand to anyone.

NOT AS ADVESTISED!

This was totally not as described. Just a dump with who knows staying extended stays. Cottages are rented to who knows what. A great place to hide out if you don't want to be found, and blend into the trees. Bed mattress was at least 15 years old, shower head missing from dirty shower. Need I say more. Stay at your own risk.

Modest but very handy

We stayed in one of the larger units, number 12. The small fridge, stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, sink, strainer, kitchenware, small deck, and charcoal grill were very useful to us. A nice outdoor pool was just outside our unit. It wasn't always easy to find the people who worked there, but they were friendly. Our cottage was clean and fairly sizable, with queen bed, two armchairs, sofa, small eat-in kitchen, and full bath. It was cozy, pleasant, and quiet, with ceiling fans as well as A/C. It was not lavishly appointed: for instance, the mirror was discolored from age, the chairs were a little worn, most of the dishes were mismatched, and the linens were a bit ragged. However, it was absolutely perfect for our needs, and these details didn't bother us at all. We found the cottage a pleasant place to relax and an easy place to prepare full meals, saving us a lot of restaurant money. The price we were given [...] was exceptionally good for what we got. Also useful: there's a fish market almost directly across Route 1 with a small selection of local fish and shellfish. Laundromat is 500 yards down the road.

The Maine Diner, just a few miles south on Route 1, was reasonably priced with terrific food (seafood in our case).
