Anchorage Motel
We love Bar Harbor and were anxious for a return visit. This was a last minute trip so places like the Cromwell and Bar Harbor Motel that we have stayed and loved previously were all booked. The Anchorage Motel still had rooms available probably because ..... it lacks a pool ...... the room was dark paneling with spots on the ceiling and carpet. Solution..... we explored the area and stayed outside. $177 for a night's stay hurts when the place is less updated than our camp.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July weekend. This hotel is extremely outdated, and FILTHY!!!! The bathroom had remenants of prior patrons, and the smell in the room resembled a musty basement. Although the location is perfect, it's not worth sacrificing cleanliness.

the owner is sucks
this motel is not accomandating. the owner is sucks, not trying to do anything flexible to fit into customers needs. not recommanded. there are many other choices nearby. any one looks/talks nicer than this one.

Nothing fancy
The location to shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor as well as the short drive to Acadia made this hotel stay decent. The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade...the staff was very nice and helpful with directions and reviews of places to see.

Sunset cruise to Littel Cranberry Island from Northeast Harbor was very nice. The restaurant there was magnificant!

basic motel
the motel was in a great location. the beds and pillows were not comfortable. older matress. staff was not very friendly/informative. when asked about suggestion of what to do in the area they were not helpful and offerer little or no information.

Not much for the price
The room was clean but had no amenities. Very close to town so we were able to park our car and not take it out again until we left. This was nice because Bar Harbor does not have a lot of parking spaces in the village.

Traveling with Toddler
rather disappointed
The rooms weren't attractive or spacious! We were disappointed to enter the dark and extremely dated interior of the motel. The motel was musty and dark and old… Although clean, it desperately needed updating and some modern touches. We were pleased at the friendly welcome that we received from some of the young desk staff, but surprised when someone (we later was told was the owner!) responded to my husband's request for additional towels by throwing another small and threadbare towel in his direction. We were shocked that a motel that had no vacancy the night of our stay was unable to put a bit of the high room rate toward some improvements and modern touches. We will not stay here again.
