Howard Johnson Inn - Bangor

the staff very friendly at desk and the maid service does very well with taking care of rooms and getting you stuff when you ask for stuff

Fly flight was delayed coming in for my 5 night stay, called ahead to tell them I would not make it the first night but would be there the rest. When I showed up the next day they had given up my room because I had not checked in because of a "computer glitch," a problem that I noticed many others had while in lobby. They were completely vacant so I had to find I different hotel, because they cleared out my 5 night reservation despite calling ahead to let them know about the change in travel plans but I would be there for the remaining days of the reservation. I then booked at the Vacationland inn about a 10 minute drive from howard johnson where they also offer cab service to the airport, where the service was break with great morning breakfast.

Cheap Motel. The TV was broken and nobody could help or seemed to care. Room was average for the rates.

The room was dirty! There was hair all over the bathroom and when we turned down the sheets there was hair in the bed!!! The room had a bad smell as well. I will not ever stay there again and do not suggest that anyone stay there.

Had booked a queen bed, smoking room for my wife and I. When we arrived was told that a single bed, non smoking room was shown on the computer and they were not very accomodating. Fortunately, had a printed reservation and they relucantly changed it. No tv remote contol in room, room dark and dingy, paint peeling off back of bathroom door, window open with no screen, garbage under bed [ plastic container and papers, dirt etc. Some staff rude, some ok but could hardly speak english. Overal not a pleasant experience, will never stay there again.

NOT impressed. Stay at Econo Lodge across the street!!! Lobby wreaked of cigarettes, staff was abrasive, room was disgusting - dirt/ blood/ SOMETHING on the cream colored walls, comforter looked like it was from 1980, bathroom moldy and filthy. DON'T STAY HERE

My room wasn't clean and I didnt have the proper amount of towels when I checked into my room. During my 8 day stay I had one day that my room didn't get cleaned and two days that I didn't get towels even after I called the front office and asked for some. The front office girl was very rude to me when I asked for towels/wash clothes. The pool was dirty and had a bad odor coming from it. There was mold growing on the shower curtain when I left. I will never stay at another HoJo's again!!

I wanted an affordable hotel to stay for a night. This is a pretty decent hotel for the price. Room is clean. Staff is nice. There is a small fridge in my room too.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson in Bangor, Maine. Upon arrival the staff was short with us, but not unordinary for a busy friday check in. We had been traveling through out the state of Maine and this was our final stop before driving back to North Carolina so rest was first priority. Once we got our key we parked near our room and entered into the second level hall way. The stench of cigarette and urine slapped me in the face! Once we entered our room, the cigarette stink circulated my body, by bags, everything! I called the front desk for 15 minutes dialing 0 over and over only to not have anyone answer. I decided to freshen up with a shower only to find a black mold infested shower curtain and trash from the previous tenants in the corner. Mortified, my fiance tried the phone again, and was answered by a rude clerk. He had asked about the wifi, as we couldn't get it to load and she snapped at him stating that they have never had problems before. He was so upset we contemplated leaving, but unfortunately had reservations shortly to see some old friends from across the country. We decided to leave early to meet them, knowing the hotel was full and unable to get another room, (we figured maybe it was because we booked online through orbitz that they reserve the shabbiest rooms for the lowest rates). We barely slept due to the stench and left at sunrise the next morning cutting out departure time earlier due to the hotels filth. Apologies for the complaint. We tried with the hotel and got no where. Next time we will consider a different means of booking.

the staff were friendy, the bed was good, room wa s clean and quiet, This hotel also has a restaurant in the same building but its not advertised in the hotel features though
