Beds were awful!!!
We went to Bangor as a Christmas trip for our daughter. Great location for shopping, friendly staff, rooms very clean. The beds were very hard and even my 21yrl's back hurt, we all slept terrible. Beds are just way to hard and uncomfortable. We will not stay there again.

loved the hotel
The buffet breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit and even fresh made omelets the way that you wanted it. The room was clean and linen fresh.

Great Stay
We love Hilton Garden Inns because they feel more like home with much nicer mattresses, down comforters, flat panel TV's, small fridge, and all of the basics that make it easier to stay away from home. The staff is professional and the breakfast is great. We stayed here on vacation for 1 week and used this as our base for our excursions to different areas of Maine.

There is a Sam's Club next to the hotel. Gas is substantially cheaper there. Take along your Sams club card so you can fuel up at Sam's instead of the high priced resort destinations.

Never buy a package
The hotel charged us for a night we did not stay. Our plane in Atlanta had mechanical problems, causing us to miss our connection in New York. When we realized we were not going to arrive until the following day, I called the hotel and explained. They refused to change our arrival date because we had purchased a package that included airfare, hotel, and car rental. They blamed [...]and [...]blamed them. The hotel said that had it not been a package they could have changed it. They also said [...]could have changed the package dates. Same for [...]car rental. A bad way to treat an elderly couple on a fixed income who had understood that a package was the most economical way to travel.We will never use [...], Hilton Garden, or [...]again.

Do not buy a package. The flights you are offered do not allow enough time for flight connections. The package looks good at first glance, but we learned from our experience of missing connections both going and returning that we lost money rather than saved money. We lost money because we had to pay for hotel room and extra meals we had not budgeted for because of the missed connections. We also had to pay for the hotel room at our destination and a day of car rental at our destination even though we did not get there until the next day. A real hardship for an elderly couple on a fixed income who had budgeted very carefully for a trip to see their son and his family.
