Wasn't the best

The front desk staff was not the friendliest. The room was dated and in need of remodel. The pool was nice. The restaurant was very good. The bed comfortable, but the pillows were like resting your head on a rock.

Fantastic Venue for Ladies Class Reunion!

I only venture back to my home town a few times a year and this was the best visit ever. The facilities, the Spa and the staff were outstanding. I have traveled several times to Chicago, San Fran and NYC and this hotel certainly is in the 4+ star rating. Highly recommend for business, weekend escapes and families taking a winter break!

Nice pre-honeymoon night

Booked 1 night for our wedding night since we are taking our real honeymoon in a few months. We live locally (20 miles away) and have enjoyed the hotel's restaurant in the past. Was able to upgrade to a king suite for a reasonable rate, which was a really nice room. There's always a risk getting a whirlpool tub room - you can usually hear your neighbor's as well. That was the case here, although I'm not sure why they can't space apart the rented rooms - the place was busy, but definitely not full. There was quite a bit of yelling in the halls around midnight, and my neighbors had a 1/2 hour screaming match, but that's the luck of the draw. Suite room was nice and roomy, 3 tvs, fireplace, comfy bed. Shampoo bottle in shower was obviously used - 1/2 full when I tried it.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The restaurant has excellent food, but make a reservation because they get busy on weekends. (It's central Maine, so good restaurants are hard to come by). The included continental breakfast was good, but set-up in a cramped area - we couldn't get anywhere near the waffle station. Somebody left the cover open to the scrambled eggs & hash browns - at least 3 servers walked right by, looked, and did nothing. The restaurant staff seemed frazzled both during dinner and breakfast, more intent on throwing people into a seat and then forgetting about them.

Poor Air Quality/ Bathroom like a closet

Poor air quality. I and my guest had to leave the room due to poor air quality. Made us very sick. Bathroom was like a closet and you could not even turn around in it. The bath tub was half the size of a normal size tub. Called the front desk 2 x's no answer because of the poor air quality within the room that was making us sick. Finally, the third time I called the front desk the desk attendant answered. Left the motel even though another room was offered as we did not want to take the chance of getting sicker. Very dissatisfied with the way the front desk handled the situation. Over all bad experience.

Two nights at The Senator Inn

I am a current member at the spa at the Senator Inn and have stayed in this hotel many times. I LOVE this Inn. I am not one to complain and I unfortuneatly had to at my stay this time. I had no hot water in my room for the whole 2 days I was there. My whole plan was to relax in the tub and in my room quietly, by myself, after the holidays. The room was filthy, there were even clothes in the drawers of the dressers, stains on the beds, and hair throughout the shower/tub. The staff was wonderful and I wanted at least ONE day to relax fully, and the staff decreased a price of one of their wonderful Suites for me. Another day I was not ready to pay for, (especially after the holidays) but I needed the rest. Their suites are FANTASTIC, as always and from there, everything couldn't have been better. I will definitely return to the Senator. Hotels in my travel experience do not get better than this. Thank you

The senator inn & spa

When I arrived the very friendly staff told me they needed to upgrade my room, which was such a nice surprise considering the cheap price of the room in the first place. I was so impressed with the room they gave me. Loved having a fireplace and mini fridge. Would recommend to anyone! I stayed here for a little getaway on my birthday and it exceeded expectations!
